It is so good you will order extra to go for dinner tomorrow!!!!
Usually I’m pretty good at taking pictures- but I had devoured half the meal before I even realized I hadn’t, but don’t let that stop you from reading more. I’ll give you all the details.
We started off with samosa chat- it is a Indian, Afghan,Pakistan flavor infused blend of Channa Marsala over chopped up samosas covered in their unique blend of 3 sauces to represent each country. It was this dish that made me unable to think enough to take pictures. We were practically licking the container to get every single bit of it.
We also had some perfectly crispy chicken samosa that had some of the best flavored minced chicken inside. My picky son ate my extra it is so good.
The main star for me was the Butter Chicken which is better than any butter chicken I have had anywhere in the US- we are Military so we have been all over the place- the owner shared with us that they have made their sauce a mix of spices from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. It also came with a large piece of Afghan naan, channa masala, and a small salad. I stuffed myself beyond what I should have but it was so delicious. We loved it so much we ordered more for dinner tomorrow! In the 12 years we have been together- we have never ordered to go from any of restaurants we have tried- it’s that special! One of my sons also had this and happily ate every single bite along with his homemade Mac and cheese( it is NOT store bought yellow cheese mac and cheese, it’s a creamy white cheese 🥰)
My other son got the butter chicken tacos- never knew that was a thing, but I’m so glad we do now. The taco is naan- putting it all together made it super appetizing to a 9 year old, who “didn’t want butter chicken” he licked his fingers and loved it.
It was also really nice to have the personalized service from the owner. This is a relatively new venture combining years of experience and the 3 cultures of their backgrounds to bring you an Indian restaurant with a dash of Afghan, Pakistan and American too. The prices more than fair which you usually don’t get if the food is as good as Mazza Kitchen’s. It’s right off 95 making to perfect to grab before or after a commute to DC, Fort Belvoir or NOVA. Truly a hidden gem.
They also offer catering, and have a food truck that you can find in the future. If we lived closer we would...

Tucked away at 8352 Terminal Rd Ste B, this hidden gem in Lorton has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic South Asian cuisine in Lorton that’s bursting with flavor and freshness. I visited on a crisp October evening in 2025, and it was nothing short of spectacular – from the moment I walked in, the aroma of sizzling kabobs and spices had me hooked. We started with the samosa chaat, a crispy, tangy delight that’s hands-down one of the top appetizers in Lorton. The portion was generous, and the chutneys added that perfect sweet-spicy balance. For mains, the chicken kabobs were juicy and marinated to perfection, paired with fluffy paratha that soaked up every bit of the rich gravy. My veggie-loving friend raved about the veggie burger – a creative twist on Indian fusion food in Lorton that’s healthier than your average fast-food option but just as satisfying. They even nailed the American classics like wings and tenders, proving Mazza Kitchen excels at blending Indian and American eats in Lorton, VA. Service was spot-on: friendly staff who explained the menu (super helpful for first-timers exploring Pakistani and Indian dishes near me), and our order arrived piping hot in under 15 minutes. The vibe is casual and welcoming, ideal for a quick lunch break or family dinner in the Lorton area. Prices are reasonable too – quality halal food in Lorton without breaking the bank. Whether you’re craving authentic kabobs in Lorton, flavorful biryanis, or just a solid burger with an exotic twist, Mazza Kitchen delivers every time. Five stars all the way – I’ll be back next week for their breakfast parathas! If you’re in Fairfax County hunting for diverse vegetarian options in Lorton, this is your spot. Highly recommend for takeout or...
Read moreI absolutely love the food truck culture at Ballston. Although I have my go-to spots, I was feeling adventurous the other day so I took a stroll to see what other options I had that day. I did yelp reviews on quite a few and stopped by the Mazza Kitchen truck, which is right outside of the Cosi. I perused the menu and .... BAM! He had me at Lamb shank.
The dish is called the Kabuli Palao, a special of the week, and wow.... The lamb shank ($10) was tender and super flavorful. The basmati rice was really tasty and cooked just right, not dry or undercooked. On the menu he describes it as " Perhaps the best rice known to mankind..." , which I thought was funny and appreciated the humor. The dish comes with a salad and cooked spinach. The spinach was subtly flavored and I wished it packed a punch like the lamb and rice, but it was good. The ingredients are of higher quality than some of the other food trucks.
The owner, seems to take great pride in this dish, always asking how the dish looks after he drizzles the food with their special white and green sauce, which is like a yogurt and jalapeno sauce. The sauces were also delicious.
I will be coming back because the food is great but also because they have a rewards program, which I think it is an intelligent move because it creates loyalty. The deal is "Buy 5 meals, get one free".
The only downside for me was the wait was a little long, but it was worth the wait.
You can also pay for the food with a credit card. I might have missed the sign, but didn't know that until the person after me paid with a credit card. Darn.
Overall, great food and I will be...
