I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my recent experience at McDonald's left a lot to be desired. Known for its fast food that's supposed to at least be hot and quick, this particular visit was neither of those things.
First off, let's talk temperature. "Cold" and "stale" aren't exactly the descriptors you want for your meal, but sadly, that's exactly what I got. The fries, once a signature item, resembled limp twigs more than golden, crispy delights. It was as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp contemplating their life choices for far too long.
And then there was the hamburger—oh, the hamburger. The patty wasn't just overcooked; it was practically scorched, teetering on the edge of burnt. What should've been a juicy, flavorful bite was transformed into a chewy, charred experience. Every bite was a stark reminder that even the basics can go horribly wrong.
I get it; it's fast food, not fine dining. But there are certain expectations even for the most straightforward of meals, and sadly, McDonald's failed to meet even the lowest of them on this occasion.
Service was perfunctory at best, almost as if the staff were as disappointed in the food as I was. It felt like the entire establishment was just going through the motions, devoid of any of the joy or efficiency that you'd expect from a brand with such a long-standing reputation.
In summary, if you're looking for a quick, hot meal that hits the spot, you might want to look elsewhere. This McDonald's experience was a stark reminder that not all fast food is created equal. In a world brimming with options, it's a miss I can't afford...
Read moreIt's only fair to give credit where credit is due . I stopped back at this location this morning and it was very different than the last time I visited. The floors were clean and someone was in the process of cleaning them. The bathroom was clean. Everything smelled fresh. The windows look clean. Good job McDonald's . A much more inviting McDonald's to visit
Below is my prior review , now updated above
Went into first use the bathroom and then get coffee. The men's room was one of the most disgusting I've ever seen. Not only were the walls and poor filthy but it looked like there was sediment in the sink as if maybe someone threw up and they didn't clean it up. There were about a half dozen flies buzzing around the back part of the bathroom. Everything was absolutely filthy.
In the restaurant the windows and doors were covered with grime dirt and fingerprints. They looked to me like Windows and Doors that hadn't been cleaned for weeks or months I shared politely with the cashier that the men's room was in need of extreme attention and left without buying anything. I can only imagine that if what I can see out front is that disgusting, the kitchen could be even worse. Shame on you McDonald's you need to bleach this whole place down and learn how to clean up after yourselves. This is probably the first negative review I've ever left anywhere about anything but it was so bad, I had to comment so other...
Read moreMcdonalds is rather universal. There really isn't much that I can say about the food that separates one Mcdonald's from another. Where I feel the reviews for restaurants like these matters is in customer service. There are approximately 4 Mcdonald's between Verona, Staunton, and Waynesboro. This McDonald's isnt the worst in terms of Customer service, and I'm certain I am not alone when I say this, as I've visited this McDonald's quite a few times and received the same treatment, but many of the people who work in this Restaurant are rude. I say this knowing that the Fast Food industry is what it is. And I feel that anybody going into that for work knows the kind of fast-paced, lower wage, angry customer, and so on..... lifestyle that comes with working there. But if you are that miserable to work there, then leave. It really is that simple. Jobs are plentiful these days and becoming more and more flexible. Do not take out your frustrations on your customers and if you are one of those that does, then do us all a favor and leave it for those who take pride in their work, regardless what it is. That comes down to character, not necessarily work environment as you should know what to expect from...
