We saw there was a new sushi restaurant nearby and were very much looking forward to trying it out since we typically drive to Sushi Jin at the town center or Yama in Vienna for good sushi. I'll start with the pros: the restaurant is clean, staff is very nice, they have a great variety on their menu and the sushi was okay. We ordered four different rolls (sunset, dragon, volcano, and spicy salmon) and a couple sashimi. The sushi slightly redeemed itself from the other items we ordered. Cons: The scallion pancake arrived on a plate of brown/black lettuce. This was pretty shocking and gross. And for $6, you only get one pancake. It looked and tasted just like the ones I buy in the package at the grocery store for about $3. One of our sushi rolls had the avocado sticker in it. If the avocado had been washed, I would think they would take off the sticker. The miso soup (for $2.55) was not very flavorable and had a strong tap water taste - I had to add more salt to it to drink it down. The only dinner item we ordered was the Yaki Don. I was expecting it to the stir-fried like the menu said, but it came out kind of soggy and tasted very strongly of black pepper. I'm trying to decide whether I would come back and try some other items, but the experience left us feeling kind of disappointed. We really wanted to like it here. Most of the menu items seemed overpriced, and if I were going to spend $80 at a sushi restaurant again, I'd rather go somewhere that I know is of good quality and satisfying. I'm glad other people enjoyed this place, but this...
Read moreDecided to try this restaurant since they recently opened. My wife and I dined in for dinner for a birthday. The service very good and the food was spectacular and very fresh. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. I wish I took more pictures but forgot. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and clean as well.
We started with the tako su octopus and the softshell crab tempura. Tako su was pretty good but the softshell crab was amazing! My wife doesn't like softshell but she found this delicious. My wife ordered chicken and steak hibachi and I ordered a variety of sushi. They didn't have every fish (ex. Uni, etc) in stock but it wasn't a big deal. They recommended a fish dish instead and I cant remember what it was called but it was some kind of cooked tuna or mackeral (I think?). I'm so glad they recommended it because it was beyond amazing! The salad and miso soup is good. My wife really loved the Hibachi she ordered and I thought it was great as well. Every piece of sushi I got was so fresh and again....so delicious! They also gave us some mochi ice cream which was good too.
Everything we ordered we would order again but definitely want to try some of the other dishes too. The only regret is not taking more of pictures of the food. We will absolutely...
