Whether you opt for the classic Tonkotsu, with its creamy pork-based broth, or the Shoyu, which offers a lighter, soy-based flavor, each sip is a testament to culinary excellence.
The noodles, made in-house, are the perfect texture – firm yet tender, and they hold the broth beautifully. The toppings are equally impressive, from the melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork to the perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg with its creamy yolk. Vegetarians are not left out, with options like the Miso Ramen, which features a robust, umami-rich broth and a variety of fresh,...
Read moreBest ramen in Nova & likely most of DC! This is coming from someone who craves ramen even when it’s 100 outside. This place is so good that I went back the next day for takeout. We got both the spicy miso & black garlic tonkatsu & agreed that the tonkatsu was our favorite. The broth is so flavorful & love the texture of the wavy noodles. The ramen portions are huge! Excellent value. Love the chili oil on the tables. I could drink it & put in three heaping spoonfuls but beware as it definitely gets spicy with the more chili oil you use. The spicy miso was also good. The kara-age & pork buns were also really yummy. Huge plus that they have alcohol!
Takeout was also amazing! Everything else is separated from the broth & the ramen portion is equally as big as if you were dining in.
This place is tiny (6 tables inside?) but love the atmosphere. If you love cats, you’re in for a treat! Gotta checkout the bathroom. Really cute patio & limited parking. Last but not least, spectacular customer service. The service is some of the best we’ve ever had. The waiter is so sweet & was very honest about a unique matcha IPA that is apparently quite polarizing. Really appreciated his honesty! I had to resist going back a third day in a row but only because I need to lose weight. Will go here every time I...
Read moreBest Tonkotsu Ramen in the DMV area. I tried Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and the broth was so rich and flavorful.
My family was there on Sunday evening around 6pm. The restaurant was small, maybe 6 tables or so, but we were seated right away. The server, I think he is the owner, was so friendly. We asked for two high chairs and he wiped them with Lysol to sanitize and wiped them again with paper towels to dry them. Never had that type of service before.
We ordered Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, Spicy Miso Ramen, and kids Ramen witj vegetable broth called “I don’t know”, if I remember correctly. Again, Tonkotsu ramen was way above my expectation. Tasting the broth and pork belly made me melt. Spicy miso ramen was too spicy for me. I wish I could take out some sauce before mixing them all to dig in. Kids ramen was pretty good too. My 3 year old could eat one pork belly and most of noodles.
The price is reasonable. The atmosphere is trendy and full of Japanese paintings and figures. The best part is the restroom. The restroom is deocrated with lightning and thunderstorm sound and visual effects. It was cleanly maintained as well.
This place would actually make me do a trip to get Tonkotsu ramen. Adding it to my favorite...
