Thanks... This was EXACTLY the restaurant I needed when it was Time to Relax.
I walked in feeling like the Universe was against me.
You know what?
I didn't even need to drink a beer to have Jen welcoming me in... Valerie reminding me how much I love a good ol' time at the bar (where else is a Tall Foster on tap?)...
The hostess actually bussed my table. I'm not a fan of THAT, since it seems like a Tampa Company Greed Thing, but God Still Blesses America. Hearing that wages are still $2 an hour was Just Right...
... Because I was overwhelmed with how awesome the staff was today. What. A. Restaurant.
I used to work for Outback Steakhouse. For a minute. Hadn't been back in a minute.
Life was a bummer for a second. So, when I found myself back in my Early Neighborhood, randomly, what happened?
Jen is there to greet me and find a hostess. Looking hot, nice, and welcomg.
The nicest/cutest hostess I've ever seen guides me around (my old workplace, again).
Suddenly, I'm looking over a menu that I KINDA recognize.
Thanks to Jeebus that Cheese fries and Alice Spring Chicken weren't $15 more than last time, lol. And still the best items... unless the Ribeye is still awesome.
Ain't no damn way I'm paying for a corporate company capitalism, where a not-the-best cut is a subject to $33.
How about instead of cutting employees/introducing tech to replace/raising prices, you stop being Money-minded Morons?
I can easily name 6 employees off my head, because they were cool:
Jen; Stephanie; Valerie; David; Scott; y ÂĄEspecialmente! the Back Room Staff.
No bromeando...
To end my rant...
Dear Outback Corporate:
I'm so sick and tired of a company treating loyal emoloyees like pawns in a Money Game.
It's called "Being a human." God Bless America.
I guarantee, if you re-brand, you'll living the Florida/Tampa future (as an ex-pat): Completely stupid by ignoring the human excellence that already exists.
Totally shocked to see the menu, Post-COVID.
If I can leave One Thought: "No te preocupes, Señor Corporate."
This was by far, my best experience in a restaurant in 5-10 years.
Do yourself a favor by doing the whole restaurant a favor. They are The Best.
Sean
P.S. -- They totally were classy about the Creep who thought it was cool to hit on a waitress.
Everyone basically took pity, haha. 100 points, plus an extra 100 for making sure he Ubered away, safe.
PPS - Is there a way to ban some dude named "Steven"? Kept hearing he's a Creep Generator, not sure if he's a borracho o que
ÂĄThanks/Gracias a todo! Se necesitĂ©, muchĂsimo, anoche.
Bueno suerte con corporaciĂłn, amigos. Pueden imaginar su...
Read moreFriday, 12/8/23 @ 7:20pm Very frustrated right now. I call the store 1 hr ago and speak with a guy with a slight accent. I said please can you ask the people making the French onion steak with bloom petals to just take the soup out. Keep everything else the same. He didn't sound very competent and he interrupted as well. I said again the same thing. I ordered through postmates. When I get the order, the steak is all wrong. There is no provolone on it and the bloom is in a separate cup. It's dry looking because it was made separate. He clearly did not explain it correctly. I don't appreciate that when I spend over 60 bucks for a meal that it is wrong and not what I specifically asked for. The only thing was just keep the soup. Don't add it, because I don't like that soup, but the way they make the steak with provolone and bloom petals is great. I call in and a girl answers. I ask for a manager and she puts me on hold. Another girl then answers and says she is transferring me to the take out. She hangs up on me and disconnects the call. I get it, you are busy cuz it's Friday night, but my stuff is wrong and the only reason I ordered that specific steak was because they put the provolone with bloom on it. Otherwise I wouldn't have ordered that one. So, the only thing I asked for wasn't done. It's pretty simple. Just keep the soup. That's all. I'd kind of like someone to reach out with a manager name because the incompetence and customer service for this location sucked. All I wanted to do was just say could you please tell your staff to pay attention. But, I got hung up on and when I called back nobody answered at all. So, it would be nice to know who I can...
Read moreDisappointing. We were the only ones sat down in a not-so-busy section at the time and completely ignored until we flagged down a server who offered to help us even though she "didn't know who our server should be" despite going to the same table next to us three times. We had to keep asking to be helped until it was time to pay. That was quick! We were never rude or pushy. I wrote the server ("T" we'll say) a note on the receipt to inform Management that everyone should be treated fairly and I most certainly meant race. It was so obvious that there was a difference - everyone that came after us in our area was promptly attended to and served bread, water, etc. Us? Nothing until we asked and then still treated as a liability. We only wanted desserts and coffee as well which was simple enough. Those were also mediocre and rushed out. We have been to Outback in other places on several occasions and know the quality should have been better than that. In an area as diverse as Northern Virginia AND in 2023, there is absolutely no excuse for this type of behavior. You are not allowed to discriminate against anyone for any reason, and we made sure to stay, pay and give a tip because we will not be treated as if we do not belong some place. There was no shortage of staff and it was not overly busy, so those excuses are null. Do better and train your staff...
