We went 830p-1015p, Tues, May 28, 2024 (* Length of time spent here is relevant) 2-top, We sat up in the raised area Our 1st time
Let's begin with the name. You can't really call or label an establishment as an Italian restaurant if most of your faire is a mixture of Amercian or Americanized cuisines. We went there expecting IT dishes & the menu didn't reflect this.
The waitress was good & she delivered on par service so she earned 20% gratuity.
Atmosphere Despite it not being busy @ all, how much wood was in the facility, the fact we were up on a raised platform (which means there are walls around the raised room): It was very noisy - EVEN WITH NOT THAT MANY PEOPLE THERE. Maybe invest in some more noise abatement especially with all the current noise abatement (heavy wood, half walls around the area, etc) since there wasn't that many people in there & we had to practically yell @ each other just to discuss the menu. The decor is nice but they have pictures clear up on the top of the wall. The reason to display pics is to share experiences, to relay history. If one can't see them, it's difficult to convey anything. Ii understand you don't want the down low so children can touch them but maybe change some areas to allow the pictures to be more accessible.
Bathrooms were very nice, according to my partner. Well-stocked paper towels. Cheap liquid soap.
Food I had the tuna salad (with ginger sauce). Partner had the Hangar Steak. We tried each other's meals. Both were delicious - but the prices did NOT justify the value or quality. I've had a 4oz filet @ a restaurant in Orlando, 25y ago, that JUSTIFIED the $60 price. It also attributes to the chef that cooked it, also, which brings me to.. The reason we were there so long. Since it was not busy, it still took a good length of time to cook the tuna & the steak. Having said that, if you're with a party &/or it's crowded, EXPECT A LENGTHY WAIT. Don't get all highfalutin on your throne expecting a microwaved 2minute steak when they actually spend time cooking your food.
Cons Unjustly overpriced Noisy for a near empty facility Warm & stuffy (with all the walls & wood & heavy furniture around, it was warm even for SPRINGTIME weather.... people can pull on their coats or sweaters, people cannot take off their skin) & we asked for fans to be turned on
Pros Good food, service Clean Comfortable chairs
If you can't figure out the bathrooms, add some culture & education to your life!
Summary We were expecting to eat here frequently but the food (nor the exorbitant prices) doesn't really justify more than a couple of...

Read moreIt was time to get out of the house and go out for a nice dinner. This was our first time at Ozzie’s and given that all other restaurants in this Great American Restaurants chain are outstanding, we figured this one would be no different.
Let’s talk about service. The service was a bit slow but I will chalk it up to the dinner rush. As all other restaurants in this chain, wait staff was accommodating, friendly and professional. We made reservations and when we showed 15 minutes early they seated us with in a matter of minutes. Host, server’s, and manager were all outstanding.
How about the food? We were a bit disappointed because we had our hearts set on the prime rib. To our dismay, the server told us they ran out. As a disclaimer, prime rib is offered Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. So plan before hand and ask the hostess when making the reservation if the prime rib is still available. Our server was very apologetic when we ordered and she realized she should have advised us when she told us about the dinner specials. No biggie it happens!
My “Crazy Lasagne” was flavorful and delicious but my heart and palate still craved the prime rib. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection, and the pasta & shrimp did not disappoint. Both dishes were very rich and filling. I don’t know if this restaurant in the company chain is any different but all others offer bread and Ozzie Rolls with their meals. You can purchase the rolls- 4 for a dollar. Maybe it’s a cost saving measure due to the pandemic and that a number of tables were empty to observe social distancing.
What about the atmosphere? Inviting and plenty of seating outside in the alley which was transformed into a quaint outdoor dining hall. Very creative and certainly worth mentioning. You have your choice of seating, inside, outside, or high top seating. Outside dining is on the closed off street/alley, and high top is on the covered patio or bar. It was a beautiful evening last night so we were lucky. Something to keep in mind when making reservations.
Overall I rate my experience a 4 out of 5 stars, but I definitely would have given 5 stars if they had prime rib. I highly...
