When on our many trips to Florida we often stop here for pizza if the timing is right. I had a dinner entree once but usually order a pizza for the two of us. Have always been satisfied with the food. This last time we arrived about 8:30 pm on a Friday. It was a little busy, and while we have the patience for a busy place, about 5 minutes after we sat down with our menus, a group of four young guys came in, and the only server, a young woman, must have known them, because she completely ignored us and spent all her time sitting next to them. Again, I understand busy, but this was not busyness. We had 5 more hours to drive and hadn't eaten since breakfast. We just wanted to get our food and get back on the road. Two people behind the counter finally took our order and served the food. We were long done and waiting for our check when finally the server was behind the counter adding up checks. She took the check out to the table of young men and SAT BACK DOWN WITH THEM! We went up to the counter and the owner dragged her away from her friends to ring up her bill. I wanted to hand a tip to the counter people who actually waited on us after noticing we were being ignored, but they weren't there when we paid. I hope she has to share what little tip we gave her with them. I know help is hard to find, but a server shouldn't be able to totally ignore paying customers for her friends. The only reason we will consider coming back is the pleasant, caring young woman behind the counter that made sure we got our pizza when the server didn't care at all and probably hoped we'd get up and leave so we wouldn't bother her while she was...
Read moreWe stopped here twice on a road trip (once on the way south, again a few days later headed back home) and the food was much better than one would expect from a highway exit restaurant.
Over the span of both visits, we ordered two different pasta dishes and a cheese pizza. All were tasty; I particularly loved the garlic bread that comes with the pasta entrees! The portions were generous, too, for the pizza and the pastas. I saved my leftover pasta both times and reheated it the next day - it tasted fresh! The prices are a little high, in my opinion (approx. $15 for buttered spaghetti) but at least the portion is HUGE.
Parking is not a problem, and we phoned our orders in ahead both times. Food was ready when we got there, and there are clean restrooms inside the restaurant. There is also a gas station that shares a parking lot, so it's a convenient one stop for those on a road trip.
My only note is that for the second visit, my pasta came with only half the amount of garlic bread as I received the first time (two slices, or a half baguette, versus four slices). Thought that was a little weird; this is something I'd expect to be consistent over...
Read moreThe food is pretty good, but I only gave two stars because I ordered delivery service, my total was $24 and some change. I handed the delivery guy two twenties and he tries to walk away like no big deal. I told him to hold up you owe me change, and the guy looks at me and says sorry I don't have any. Then tries to walk away again. I was floored. A $16 dollar tip on a $24 pie order. Yeah right. I told him to take the pizza back I didn't want it, he says to me hold on I'll go get change, but tried to walk off with my cash once again. I tell him to hold up, throw my shoes on and go down to my hotel lobby to get change. It completely defeated the idea of delivery, and the assumption of the owner, none the less. Thats who did my delivery, the owner. I will tell all in Emporia, FoSho's pizza is just as good if not better, it's cheaper, and u don't have to worry about a...
