Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Virginia

Look there ain't a whole lot I can say about this place okay except when you want to know what the nectar of the God s taste like you want to know what the land of milk and honey taste like you want to know what I don't care if it's -400° I'm still going here. I was at the hospital one time around the corner and I checked myself out cuz I realize how close I was to Rita's just to go get one of them. Vanilla and chocolate strawberry ice. Delicious goodnesses that I always love to get. So if you want to get a nice treat to treat yourself to treat everybody in the neighborhood hell hit me up. You can treat me too. I might treat you. We don't know. All I know is if we going here it's on cuz I want to go. I don't care what time. I don't care how cold. I don't care how hot they can be 40 for the snow outside. I'm still showing up. Rita's is where it's at. Plus the the staff is always cool and no matter how long the line is it moves fast and trust me it's worth it. Sometimes I get and line twice LOL. I'm just saying they should be 24 hours cuz I could go get some Rita's right now if they was open. But it's okay I understand. All good things. Come to those who wait. Ritas was ordered and served at our wedding at the James River Country club on 8-12! It was perfect. Rita’s was our first date so it was great to have it at our wedding.

Coordinating the order was an easy process. I was able to discuss all the details with the manager via email about the date, guest count, different Italian ice amounts and what would be best based on our guest list. The prices were pretty decent, and did include the cups and spoons. However, I did notice the prices are increased a bit compared to just Googling the party packs online. But they were worth it!

We had plenty to serve. There were so many flavors to choose from, it truly was hard to narrow down! Every guest commented saying it was perfect to eat during cocktail hour after the hot wedding ceremony on the beach.

Thank you Rita’s for always serving good dessert, being the host of our first date, and allowing us to bring you to our wedding. Rita’s will forever hold a special place...

Unfortunately my last visit to Rita's Western Virginia Williamsburg and Newport News. Being from Philadelphia my top 5 does not include Rita's for Water Ice but I have stopped by there because it's one of the closest to a real Water Ice. There's a mobile truck in the Richmond area that is great if you can catch up with it. I'm not much on fruit in my water ice or flavors that don't deliver. If you try readers I know that it is not the authentic water ice of Philadelphia but maybe jersey. I long for a foodie trip to Philadelphia for cheese steaks from Max's and Dalessandro's and water ice from transillis. A hot soft pretzel just because🤣🥰. Sorry😁 the Rita's in Newport News is a little less flavorful than the one at William & Mary in Williamsburg. I don't know who has oversight but my grape tasted like chocolate and the other flavors are less impactful. They're worth trying to get an idea of what Italian Water Ice is, but there are better places but...
