TL;DR, a very disappointing experience I won't likely try again.
I LOVE Korean food. So the concept of a "fast" Korean restaurant definitely has it's appeal. I've tried most, if not all, of the Korean restaurants on the peninsula and this was unfortunately the worst yet.
The good: kimchi was fresh and flavorful. The steamed veggies were perfectly al dente and maintained flavor and color. The boolgogi, what little there was for a $9 entree, was decently seasoned and had good flavor.
The bad: You would have a VERY hard time convincing me the ramen wasn't instant. It was soggy and exceptionally unappealing. The egg (plain, not soy egg) was overcooked and the yolk was solid. There wasn't much to the broth, what little wasn't absorbed into the instant noodles, and it tasted like it was nothing more than a heaping spoonful of gochujang. I ate 2 bites and threw away the rest. The mandu (dumplings) were dry and the filling lacked any spice or flavor. Drowning them in the provided sauce offered brief reprieve from their utter blandness. Lastly, the jabchae (glass noodle) was lathered in soy sauce and not much else came through. No wood ear mushroom for texture contrast, and the noodles were broken or cut short, the way I do for my 2-year old. They might have been easier to eat with chopsticks, except none were included.
All in all, price plus all the delivery fees to Riverside (5 minutes away) came up $38, an exorbitant price for an extremely lackluster meal, half of which wasn't even edible. A tragic example of Korean fare that could turn anyone off from trying this wonderful and varied cuisine. I'll stick with Sorobal or Kyung Sung for...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this restaurant. I placed two orders over the phone taken by Caitlin to be picked up. I specifically requested no egg in food as I have an egg allergy and that I was vegetarian as well. Once I returned back to work from lunch break; I opened my meal up and realized that there were eggs mixed into my food. On the receipt it also states my request. I called them back for a refund or replacement meal and they gave me a hard time. Needless to say, I now have taken a lunch break only to not eat (what a waste of time) and now I have to return to this location tonight at 8pm when I get off to return food per owners request to get my $10.16 back. I should have received at minimum an apology instead of excuses or simply a refund to prevent me from having to drive back to the restaurant. The second order was also wrong. My coworker ordered stir-fry vegetables however did not receive and glass noodles were placed in meal. I will NOT return to this location because they were rude and didn't try to fix the issue at hand immediately. This place has poor business management skills and I know because my husband owns a restaurant that is customer friendly and who's number one goal is to satisfy...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I really enjoy the quality of the food here. We are always left satisfied. But for some odd reason, it was Sunday 5:35. They close at 6. I can understand if they got a bit annoyed coming in late. But a whole 25 min early shouldn't be such a problem. I open the door and immediately a young lady looks to the door and sighs, then drops the mop on the table making a loud noise. Her body language already expresses she wasn't too fond of us. To make it worse, she says "what do y'all want", rude of her. She smacks the computer to place our order. Continues to sigh, we wanted to get a miso soup and fried Oreos but the fryer was "off", and we didn't want to speak to her anymore so we didn't order anything else. She turned the open sign off at 5:40 and locked the door as soon as we left around 5:47. To finish it off she wasn't polite when handing my food. I said thank you she replied, "yup". When we got home the veggies were not steamed. The cabbage was crunchy. The chicken completely undercooked. It was pink on some of the pieces. Horrible service from bob bobs. I expect someone to contact me back for a refund or an apology. You lost two very...
