It's been a long time coming for this review but I finally have the time for it. My wife and I recently got married back in September 2021 and had our dinner here at the Roma Restaurant in Mechanicsville. To further go into details, let me back it up real quick. We got engaged earlier in February 2021 and were planning on getting married in 2022. One thing led to another, with an incredibly booked wedding season in 2022 due to the pandemic, crazy scheduling, and a couple episodes of family drama later, we realized our best bet was to get married THIS YEAR. Crazy and ambitious, we set out to get this short noticed wedding planned ASAP. On top of all of this, we're also pretty frugal and wanted to pay for this wedding ourselves without taking on debt. We decided on a date that worked for everyone and finally found a spot for our ceremony at the Polegreen Church, but we only had it for half the day as it was booked for a rehearsal dinner. We decided to roll with it and find a place to host our dinner. Trying not to venture out too far from the ceremony site, we stumbled across Roma as we've ate at another location previously and liked it and it was perfect that it has a banquet room with enough room to host our guests as we were doing a small wedding. I reached out to Roma about reserving this room and Philip got back to me very quickly. Of course we had a ton of questions and were super needy and he has been super kind and patient everytime we have contacted him with anything and getting his input on decisions. He even let us do an impromptu tour of the banquet rooms (they're both beautiful btw and actually became a challenge when deciding LOL) When it came down to show time, they didn't even break a sweat springing into action making sure the biggest day of our lives were perfect. After our beautiful ceremony was over, everyone headed over to the restaurant and we were so excited to see how beautiful everything was set up to our liking. (I'm telling you I felt like we were super needy especially with crazy last minute changes/requests and they freaking nailed it perfectly without skipping a beat.) Everyone enjoyed the food and our servers were incredibly kind and attentive. We did a beautiful champagne toast and they cut our cake, served it, and packed up the extras up and everything. I was at a loss of words of how perfect everything was. Philip, our servers, the kitchen staff, and everything involved at Roma really knocked it out of the park and that's an understatement. After all is said and done, the final bill was more than reasonable and was shocked at how affordable that whole dinner was. With the level of quality and service, this was definitely a bargain. If you managed to read up to this point from this wall of text, if you're planning to have a dinner party and are considering to have it here at Roma's. DO IT. You will not regret it.
Thank you again Roma for giving us an...
Read moreSal catered our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Seven Springs in May 2019 and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience! Sal was one of our favorite vendors of the whole weekend. He was responsive, flexible, and extremely professional navigating the (somewhat complicated) logistics of catering in a new space, and even came to our walk-through a month before the wedding. On the day of the event, he arrived early to set everything up exactly as we had discussed, and he was ready to go right on time for cocktail hour. Because he brought his food truck, he was able to cook everything right on site so it was fresh and warm. And our guests just raved about the food! We did family style Italian, and everything from the pillow-soft fresh rolls, to the tasty and fresh salad, to the seafood pasta and chicken were delicious! It seemed like the food just kept coming out, and it was all beautifully plated with fresh flowers. After we finished the rehearsal dinner, he drove the truck around to the bonfire and we kept the party going with yummy late night pizzas around the bonfire! I would HIGHLY recommend Roma's to any couple in the Richmond/Mechanicsville area. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Sal, for the perfect start to our...
Read moreI've always loved Roma's. I Love. The Owners and then Staff! They are Polite and give good Service!. And the food is really good! I recommend their Cheese Steak with Lettuce Tomato and fried Steak onions, I also like it with cooked mushrooms and banana peppers & jalapeno hot peppers. That,'s how I always order mine. I also recommend the Veal Parmesan with side of Spaghetti that comes with it. This is really good, but kind of expensive. I've been a loyal customer since the 1970's. when they used to be on nine mile Rd down from the food lion shopping center off of Newbridge Rd. Richmond, VA. When they moved to Mechanicsville I followed them over there for their business, and I live in Caroline County, VA.near kings dominion. That's how far I travel to go to eat where they are!! I like them a lot! They also have good Pepperoni Pizza! They're over on Bell Creek Rd. Past BJ's on the left. Go over there and Enjoy yourself! ...
