Sticks Kebob Shop — Restaurant in Virginia

This place was recommended to me as a good kabob place...I was disappointed, especially in light of other reviews on here. Flavor is definitely lacking in both the chicken and beef kabobs. While the meat quality is good, the seasoning they advertise is very limited and the meat doesn't stand on its own. You definitely need sauce unless you personally enjoy the bare meat flavor. Rice is the definition of plain... Nothing to make it palatable by itself, unlike at other Mediterranean restaurants I've been. On top of that, the price is ridiculous for what you get. For a restaurant that makes its staple of kabobs, you get ONE for $8.50 plus fillers of rice and salad. I would expect two at minimum (you pay more if you actually want two kabobs), plus an option of a kabob-only platter of 5 or 6. There is no such option. I love this place. I have reviewed another of their locations with a lackluster response, but every time I go I find another reason to love this shop. The platters are generous, and I realize now that I am a little more familiar with the way that meals work here that you can adjust what you want. I got a wrap this time, but again was a little jealous of my dining partners two kabobs, and really enjoyed her hummus. The basmati rice is perfectly cooked, the peppers are evident throughout, and the meat and veg are charred and flavorful. Today, at this location, I saw the mountains, and the great light that filtered in. I seem to remember great light and views at the other location as well. The food itself was fine, no real issue there... however to echo others, the portions are too small for the price. The side dish choices are limited, but I could live with that if they either lowered the prices accordingly or increased portions to better equate to what they are asking. I didn't hate the service, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person taking orders acted like they could care less if customers were there or not and seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but at work. If they had someone behind the counter a little more pleasant, and more importantly better amounts of what is served (or lower prices) I would go from my current 3 star rating and bump it up...
