Oh goodness, you know when you find a place and it gives you the warm and fuzzies. That's Texas donuts. Been coming to this location since it opened (haven't tried the others). Nearly every time I go in the owner (Annie) is at the helm. She knows the whole family's orders and checks to see if anything has changed before putting them in. She has the warmest smile and the biggest heart.

The donuts are amazing. Whenever I have friends in town we go there and they lament that they can't get these at home. Best I can compare them to is Shoppers donuts (if you've had theirs before they went out of business) and Texas Donuts is even better. I'm partial to pretty much everything and as an adult will still get one of the character donuts from time to time. They have raised and cake donuts. Love the fruity pebble. I've only had their cronuts so can't compare to others, but they're good (glazed and a sugar option). Kids like to add their favorite filling to those donuts. Their sausage and cheese kolaches are soooo good! Sometimes I'll just stop in for an iced coffee (great price and you can get it black. They usually have hazelnut, plain, and vanilla creamer you can add yourself as well as sugar/alternatives.

Stopped in today for my usual and had a minute to talk with the owner and say hi, she felt so horrible that the previous reviewer thought they were being mocked, you could see it hurt her heart that the customer felt that way. Not discounting their feelings, but when someone tries to reach out, apologize, and make things right and the other party wants no part of it...that tells you something. People make mistakes or interpret things differently and we've got to give each other some more grace. Annie gets a dozen gold stars in my and my...

I stopped in to pick up donuts for work around 1 PM or so. The first thing you are greeted with is a warm smell of donuts and yeast. It smells delicious! They had multiple staff available to take orders. I had placed my pick up order on their website ahead of time. I had a short wait to talk with the staff but they had my order ready to go and my breakfast croissant sandwich in a warming cabinet which I was grateful for. One thing you must be prepared for is the size of their food. It's ALL Texas sized. The Cronuts are about 4x the size of Krispy Kreme donuts. They have a good selection of various flavor donuts. I ordered a dozen assorted flavors and 6x Cronuts in addition to my sausage egg and cheese croissant. The Cronuts are airy and massive, layered with croissant like dough and are glazed with a sugar glaze. I could hear Wilford Brimly yelling DIABEETUS! In my head. The donuts are quite tasty and behemoths! The fillings are quite delicious. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I'm glad they don't deliver with Doordash because that way I can't order on a whim! The staff were super friendly and efficient. They don't try to upsell you. This place is definitely a 10/10 with the caveat that their food is a...

This should be a 5 star or even a 10 star review because I LOVE Texas donuts. However, after a recent visit and discussion with someone who works there, I have to give a disappointing 2 star review. From what I was told, they added lemon flavor to the donuts which makes them taste nothing like Texas Donuts. Its almost like I went to carnival and had a fried funnel cake. This is because they are now under new management. My sons even noticed a taste difference and they threw their donut holes away. Thats saying something because they always go with me to pick up their donuts. I HIGHLY recommend going back to the original recipe because you will lose clients. There's a saying, don't fix something if it isn't broken. Unfortunately you made this huge mistake. Based on the taste now, this is not even close to Texas Donuts and I would not qualify as even being from Texas. Trust me, I'm from Texas and I know my donuts so this is basically coming from a donut expert. I will gladly give this a 5 star review if and when the recipe goes back to what it was. Very...

Had Texas Donuts on my radar and since we were heading by the other day, we finally made a stop. Cute little shop with a pretty good number of options. We went with a fairly basic mix, but I still think a plain glazed donut is a good way to judge a donut shop. We did a half dozen: a glazed, a sugar, two filled with Bavarian cream, a blueberry, and their croughnut. My wife also got a coffee and I snagged an apple fritter too. Donuts are light and airy. The croughnut was fine, but even as one of their more "expensive" donuts, it was worth a try since nothing is that pricey. The fritter was great. It's not one of those massive fritters, BUT it's former perfectly. I've had fritters that are too thick and the interior stays kind of dough-y. This was just tender on the inside with a crispy exterior. They were much closer than I expected and I'd definitely head back. (Staff was also really friendly!)

Leaving our hotel, we stopped here on the way back to Virginia Beach. I immediately got excited when I saw it because I was hoping they sold kolaches. I was right! Walking in, my eyes went straight to the Texas donut....that thing is huge! I tried so hard to talk myself out of wanted. Eventually, fat me won after telling myself it was for the family to share. We also ordered a cronut and blueberry cake donut. We later warmed the donuts in the airfryer... all of them were amazing! I was kind of disappointed when I found they only sell cheese and jalapeno cheddar kolaches as I typically would get a plain. I was still excited and ordered the regular cheese. I was no longer disappointed. It was so good. I'd definitely visit again to try a custom filled donut where you can fill your donut with one of their fillings.

Recently, I’ve been craving a kolache, since I haven’t had one since leaving Texas. So it was fortuitous that my Google search for kolaches led me to Texas Donuts! We stopped by on a Sunday morning and this place was busy! They had plenty of staff on hand and it didn’t take long to get our order. The jalapeño and cheese kolaches were picture perfect! My wife got a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. We both really liked what we got and the coffee was good too. The only thing I didn’t like about this location is who small it is. It gets pretty crowded in there and there is no seating so, you have to take your order to go. A location with a drive through would make more sense. However, that won’t stop me from returning to this location the next time I’m having a kolache craving.
