I sit here wondering why I ordered online 2 weeks in advance to reserve my ham and turkey breast. For the first time in more than 30 years I was going to let someone else prepare my turkey. Imagine my surprise when I got to the store and saw pure chaos and a police car directing traffic. I assumed a crime had been committed (Who would steal turkeys? I thought). So I stand dutifully in line and hear after about 30 minutes in that all the turkey breasts are gone. I assumed that was just for those folks that had not planned ahead and reserved like me. Well, you know what they say about assuming. Nope. As Seinfeld said, "You know how to take a reservation. You just don't know how to keep a reservation." Despite my pride in "reserving" my turkey so far in advance, it turns out that means absolutely nothing. No turkey. Thank God I had ordered a small ham too. At least I can give everyone one slice of protein and hope everyone fills up on everything else. I normally refer to this as Turkey Day but no longer courtesy of Honeybaked Ham. Now it will be Thanksgiving and going forward I will give thanks to Honeybaked Ham for teaching me a valuable lesson such that I never have to be tempted to give them any of my money again. Even better, I work with a lot of people and this story is going to be told again and again as I emphasize how my kids went through the holiday with out a turkey that they all knew Dad had ordered from Honeybaked Ham. How can you have a reservation system that people plan their holiday around and you can't even...
Read moreSo I had an unusual circumstance arise in the last few days, I called the store yesterday to see if there was anyway I could get some ham slices (6 days before thanksgiving). I had no confidence but thought ok all I can get is a no. Timothy answered the phone and I explained my situation and he advised me to order and prepay online. I tried this as soon as I got home. Nope. Earliest pickup date was the day after Thanksgiving. Ok I thought, I’ll go to the store and try. No wonder he’s a manager/the manager because he was so wonderful to me. Honestly the best customer service I have received in a retail setting in YEARS. He made my day and not only did I get my ham but I left having faith in true customer service which quite honestly is really hard to find nowadays. Such a sweet man who took the time to talk to me and shared a story similar to what I’m going through with a sick/dying family member and I so appreciate him being so kind. If the owner/corporate is reading this I hope you appreciate this amazing man and him being so good at his job. THANK...
Read more5 stars is not enouogh stars for this store. My good friend recently lost her husband. I am all the way across the country, and not able to come help her in this difficult time. I called the store and spoke to Tee (the manager), and explained my situation. Even though it is not something they normally do, she went the extra mile and helped me put together a meal order that was gluten-free. I was able to make arrangements to have the food picked up. Since I didn't want anyone to worry about payment, she let me pay over the phone. When the food was picked up, she made a point to show my card number was shredded.
The service I received, as well as my friend's family, was some of the best I have ever received. I am a business owner myself, and this type of service is what I strive for at my own store. She helped make a difficult time a little easier, and it will always be...
