The service is awful here -- not friendly at all, no hospitality in spirit, and when they answer the phone it shows how they greet you and speak to you in general. Several times I've called in to place my order and they place me on hold by just setting down the phone and forgetting. I can hear them shouting, banging, and taking other customer orders for at least 5-7 minutes, almost as if they've forgotten to pick the phone back up so I just hang up (this happens 9 times out of 10 when I call). Absolutely absurd!
Then I walk into the shop to place my order (because ordering over the phone isn't successful) and the rudeness continues. The staff is short with their words, no smiling or greeting at all, almost as if the customers are a bother or nuisance to them for ordering.
Lastly, the bagels have hardly any seasoning on them or they're burnt when requested to be toasted -- see my picture for reference of the piss poor pathetic "everything bagel seasoning" I got. Mind you, all of this has happened several times to me and my spouse over years.
To top it off, the most recent experience I had, I was sitting down at a four seat table waiting for my to-go order and the owner was sitting across from me with his daughter/or granddaughter. An older lady (not sure if this was his mother or a friend) just walked right up to my table and rudely took a chair without asking or saying anything to me. As if I didn't exist and was invisible. She could have asked "could I borrow a chair" or "is anyone using this chair?", but no. This blew my mind of the entitlement she thought she had.
Overall, there are WAY better bagel shops out there that actually care about their customers and the quality of food served. Don't waste your money, time or energy here. This place has been here for years and hasn't gotten any better, in fact, I feel like it's...
Read moreI placed an order for myself using DoorDash because I didn’t want to call in and their website didn’t seem to have an order online option. When I got inside it was very busy; there was a line almost to the door and all the seats were occupied. There was a customer standing off to the side awaiting his order, so I went there to announce my arrival next to him. He got his food and left, that’s when I told the employee I was here for my DoorDash order. He looked at my screen and instantly said “it’s not ready yet” and then walked away to continue working on other orders. So I stood there in the middle of the restaurant awkwardly awaiting the next steps but was never talked to again. So after 10 minutes I found a seat and continued waiting for 15 minutes. When it got to 40 mins since I placed the order, I started getting frustrated. At that moment the employee asked for my name (which he supposedly knew all about when instantly deciding it wasn’t ready earlier). It turns out my order was ready but was set aside for DoorDash pickup.
Clearly this was a miscommunication because of them being busy and the different process for DoorDash orders. Mistakes happen, but I would have appreciated a little more attention when I first took the initiative to announce my arrival. Without attention on waiting customers, we are left with two choices:
Bother them to check in on the order periodically; or
Wait until they close and realize you’re still there for some reason.
The obscurity in the order process was frustrating and uncomfortable. A better process to differentiate between real time orders and online orders would...
Read moreBeen here a few times, and liked their bagels. Like everyone else says, though, they are slow. Today was exceptionally bad. I was the only customer, and I was waiting for 7 minutes to get two toasted bagels. I then realized what the delay was, as the aroma of burnt bagel filled the room. To my utter shock, the girl was scraping the burnt the bagel as if it never occured. They were totally black, and her plan was to just scrape, schmear and serve. I would not have written this review, though, if the owner/manager wasn't watching this all happen. He watched idlely and let the girl continue scraping and proceed to put schmear on. I asked her nicely to replace the bagels with bagels that weren't burnt. Mistakingly, I stopped watching, so as to give them the benefit of the doubt that they would correct the order and do the right thing. When I opened my bagels a few minutes later, I disappointingly realized what I received...1 burnt bagel and 1 cold, untoasted bagel. The cream cheese was spread so thin, I barely knew it was there. I will never return to this...
