Tuna salad on a roll, with certain trimmings, is one of my go-to favorites at Wawa, but the experience has been far better at other store locations. Mind you, the food was fresh, clean, good-tasting, and being very hungry didn't hurt. However, the process beforehand was very peculiar. OK, I entered my order on one of their touch-screen monitors, covered in smudgy fingerprints, of course! Then I paid my ticket to a cashier who was most courteous. Then I just watched from afar as a very slow-moving, hesitant, perhaps brand-new worker made what I thought was my order. She seemed to ask her co-worker something every step of the way. Then, when she put my order into the oven, I thought I was wrong, it couldn't have been my order (I never request my tuna to be toasted). But then I figured it was indeed intended for me after all, when the worker removed the sandwich from the oven, and seconds later was accosted by her co-worker, who appeared to be correcting her and took the food from her hands and then seemed to throw it away! And so the first worker started a new sandwich for me, but the bulk of it was finished by another worker. Even this time, I had a hunch that the avocado I requested (70 cents extra) was omitted, so when they called my number, I relayed my suspicions. We didn't unwrap the order to check, but the manager (I assume) apologized & offered to provide the avocado on the side. I thanked her profusely, but I might have been a little premature! Check out the photo, and note that the cup is tiny, like the one you might get for dollop of mustard or mayo. [Thanks...
Read moreWe used to stop at this Wawa at least two mornings a week and have tried going back to that schedule since their grand reopening but the new hires are terrible. This morning we waited more than ten minutes for two bagels. Two bagels! Were they incredibly busy? Nope! The staff, standing around talking and laughing with each other and wandering around chatting, had zero hustle and only put out THREE orders in all that time. Large, complicated multi item orders? Nope! Just lazy staff more interested in talking each other up than doing their jobs. One's long winded talk to the folks not making the orders in front of them on the chicken she's making that everyone loves was super duper fascinating. 😒 Bagels today have barely any cream cheese, specialty coffee earlier in the week was maybe 2/3 full and our breakfast bowls had so much pepper in them that they were literally inedible, 15 minutes to get any Sizzli stock at the counter. Kevin and the others up front are still wonderful tho, on the ball and friendly as heck but we've been here multiple times since the remodel and the rest of the staff needs to get it together. Not returning for fuel and breakfast at this location for awhile, Jefferson is great and there's a 7/11 right up the road that i can get in and out of in a reasonable...
Read moreRecently renovated. Really clean and nice place to stop at compared to alot of gas stations. There bathrooms are clean. If your not there at a peak hour you tend to get your orders pretty fast. They have hoagie and specialty made drinks sells quite often. I have not had any problems with the staff. Only real issue is the air pump. They only have one and its usually backed up.
UPDATE: Recently I have been running into the issue of my drinks being made wrong all the time. One example is I got a drink today (salted Carmel latte with a shot of exspesso) I got a hot cup of milk..... After how many times they have messed up my drink order here I would learn to taste it before I leave. So if you get drink make sure to taste I before you leave so you know it's right. Down grading to 2 stars for how many times...
