Update! I ate again there tonight & got a Tuna Sandwich with a bake potato. Brad & Daniel ( forgive me If I have this wrong) are amazing cooks!! Brad also handed me my to go food & made sure everything was just as I ordered it at the Kiosk! Very kind & you can see that both of the cooks love what they do! Exceptional Service!

I absolutely love midtown eats food! No matter the day or time the food is always top tier! This day I has their tuna sandwich grilled on a hosier bun. Nothing but superb! I love tuna!

On another note -

I will have to give service a 3 star not for this day with the pictures but on Monday 9/2/24. My friend and I ate here around 12am. The man checking IDs at the door did not give good vibes that I am used to here. There was a lady standing next to him I have no idea who she was who just looked at us & said nothing. I hope that wasnt a manager because that is even worse.

We asked if we could use the restroom he pointed in the back. We asked if we can sit down to eat. He said very curt - You can order at the kiosk. It made me very uncomfortable. If he is going to be there for security or checking IDs lose the attitude. I used to have classes for DCJS training on security guards & I dont think he is security just checking ID’s.

Someone also should be there to at least offer information on what happens at night at the door. I used to come here with my friends back in the day for taco Tuesdays. Customer service is important and can help or hurt a business no matter how good the food or product is.

My friend & I made the best out of the situation. The food was good that night & the cooks were very nice &...

I come in here quite often for the crab balls and chicken Philly cheese steaks at night . My company had a job site by city center so I decided to call in an order for my crew . We all wanted to try the brisket Philly . It was posted on the online menu for 14 dollars and included fries or chips . We get there and go to pay each combo comes out to $21 dollars . I said excuse me it says 14 online , they said oh the owner has to update it online they updated the price in the store . I said it says right on your board your standing next to $14 as well .. they said oh well sorry I guess the owners updated the price . They swapped my fries out for chips it came to 18.60 . I regrettably paid and accepted the food . The brisket sandwich had good taste but was 80 percent cubed fat . The chips were old stale home made chips that had no seasoning or even salt. I ate about half the sandwich and threw the rest away . Highly disappointment and me or none of my guys will be back

EDITED 12/24/24 since management wants to reply to my review and act like I’m lying . Here is both a picture of the menu as posted on their Google page , and the chalk board the day I came into the restaurant . It doesn’t even have a brisket and hash listed . It says brisket Texas Philly and a couple other entrees . 12 and 14$ clear as day … and when I called I told them I wanted the lunch special Texas brisket philly . Learn how to update your menu / google page . And it would help if you wrote on there it is extra for fries . Literally says that it comes with chips or fries or side salad . Don’t come at me because of something...

This was the second time I've eaten from Midtown Eats. The first time I sat inside and ate with my dad and boyfriend. The food was really good. Its been some time ago so I actually can't recall what I had, I just remembered being impressed with the food. Since the first time was so good I was eagerly looking forward to the second time. This time was a pick-up order. When I got there ....wasn't much of a greeting...just, are you here for pick-up? You're blah blah (my name). Food was ready...I paid and walked speedily to my car unaware of what was to come. My order was the crab dip & pulled pork nachos w/nacho cheese sauce. I opened the nachos first. So, the pork was really good...a bit more fatty than I typically like but still good and tender. The cheese sauce was overkill! Too much! It drowned everything! Smh😔. You have to know ratio's when you're making things like this so the food compliments all its ingredients. Really disappointing. I was SO looking forward to crushin these...ate a few and tossed to the side. On to the star of the show! MY DIP. I ...LOVE...CRAB DIP! If a restaurant has it.... I'm ordering it to try it! This dip was suppose to be baked. I have no idea how it was cooked but it wasn't baked...it tasted microwaved....just warmed up. AGAIN WITH THE CHEESE! OVERKILL. Who was cheffin in the kitchen....they should step away....smh. Yea, too much cheese...I couldn't taste past the cheese. Dissapoinment is the result here.... ....pure disappointment. And the fried chips for the dip were slightly burnt. Ugh! I may or may not get food from them...

Midtown Eats is an interesting little spot on J. Clyde Morris Blvd. I was on a lunch date on my first visit. When we arrived were greeted and seated quickly. The decor is interesting with an artistic expression both rustic and juvenile. The menu looked promising with a selection of what I would describe as comfort foods. I chose the gumbo it's a favorite and the adult grilled cheese with several cheeses on rustic bread. My partner chose the Philly Steak Sandwich with tots we both had soft drinks. The Gumbo had a wonderful flavor but was missing the rice! When I inquired I was informed that it was served with hush puppies. This was NOT a good combination in my opinion. And the hush puppies were dense and over cooked. The grilled cheese was definitely grilled to death not burnt but so crunchy that it hurt to bite into it. The Philly was a Philly nothing to make it anything but. The tots were grease logged as if the oil had not been hot enough. Some of this could have been just a ok whatever shrug the kitchen is having an off day. But it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive from the time we ordered. There were two other tables another 2 top and a 3 top so not at all busy. This was a sad experience and I left frustrated not having spoken to anyone about the issues so as to not embarrass my date who doesn't like to draw attention.
