Very disappointed in my order.
My friend recommended this place to me highly and I saw the reviews online so I decided to try it and support a local restaurant.
Ordered the Ravioli with beef shortrib and Ravioli with veal for my brother and I for lunch. Order was placed online for takeout and first thing that is noticed was that prices were higher than noted on the menu. I decided times are tough and they may need it to make ends meet so I order anyway.
We placed the order just before noon and specified the takeout to be ready for later(12:30-12:45). My brother left to pick it up and returned at 12:49. The food was in small sealed white containers that look like they were microwaved and the food was already cold.
I understand that this location is going for quality of food over quantity, but the quality was also sorely missing in our case. Both our orders tasted like cold little pockets of oil with meat in them and while the quantity has left us still hungry, it was difficult to finish my ravioli.
The bread that was included with our order was significantly better than either of our orders. Perhaps the food needs to be experienced fresh, but our experience was significantly different from other reviewers. If this is a new process the restaurant is just starting, I hope they improve their process and that other people have better experiences and continue to support local restaurants. I may return to try the food in person one day, but I will not order...
Read moreIt is a small Italian eatery with very limited seating. The atmosphere is okay if you are dining in. However, we took our meals to go since our 10 min wait turned into 25 mins. We purchased 3 entrées and a salad totaling over $100. When we got home, we were disappointed in the packaging and portion size.
The portions we brought home did not resemble the portions served in the restaurant. It felt like a batch of kids' meals.
The packaging came in 6 separate TV dinner trays because the proteins were packaged separately from the pasta. The packaging was a vacuum sealed sheet of plastic. This was not pleasant to open since pieces of it tore and landed in our food as we attempted to peel the plastic off. Parents, be sure to open this for your kids. You do not want your kids to accidentally mix pieces of plastic sheets into their food.
My family said their meal tasted fine. I can't tell you how my meal went because I was truly upset with the portions and packaging and just tossed it in the garbage.
To the owners: I highly recommend doing away with the vacuum seal and investing in actual lids that make it easy to pop on and off.
For future customers: I recommend only eating at the restaurant. The takeout service is not worth the disappointment. To be fair, I believe our experience would have been a lot more pleasant had we just ate at...
Read moreMy god. This place is good. Like, really good. Like I experienced my own Ego-From-Ratatouille-Being-Transported-To—A-Cherished-Memory-From-His-Childhood moment when trying the meatballs. I know my Calabrian grandmother was looking down with a wooden spoon in one hand and begrudging approval clenched in the other. You have a whole myriad of options regarding type of homemade pasta and sauce; your mouth-watering options are seemingly limitless. The bread is good. What can I say, it’s good bread. The desserts do not buckle under grandeur expectations set by the entrees, they uphold the value of the rest of the meal with grace and ease - Arguably the best cannoli you can get in this area. And to top it all off, phenomenal service, dual-wielded and friendly. We sat outside during a frigid January night and still felt the warmth of a thousand suns - 33.3% coming from the literal flamethrower present inside the tents (Ridiculously tempting, I want one for my own house), 33.3% from the piping heat wafting up in tendrils of steaming tantalization from your bowl of pasta, and 33.3% of warmth coming from a thousand suns emanating from the inner joy felt inside of your soul, shining forth as you remember how it felt as a child to be completely provided for and taken care of, and the idea of the future was but a far off dream. Dal Grano’s for...
