As a local I am really excited to see a new Japanese restaurant pop up in these neck of the woods. Upon entering they allowed us to choose our own seats and we opted for the very back by the TV, where it seemed a bit more cozy. They played a lot of filming from inside a Japanese restaurant with no sound. Just some food inspiration I suppose. :)

They didn't have the Curry for the Katsu ready, but we were able to take it to go which was fine. Still waiting to try that though since we ordered so much we were full by the end. We went with the Garlic Noodles with Filet Mignon, a Protein roll (see photo) and a Mango Salmon (outside topping) roll (which was not listed, but was on the tablet the server put our order in from), the Cucumber salad and Karaage, which we did not end up getting due to a mix up in the order, which was alright because we ordered too much anyway, probably from all the excitement.

For drinks we went with Green Tea, which ended up being Jasmine tea. Luck for us because we actually prefer it! They refill these as you dine, as opposed to other Japanese location which may end up giving you a tea bag (if you go hot) so this was very nice. The servers here are very attentive and polite, so a big shout out for their attentiveness to our needs.

I would note maybe having prewarmed mugs might be great since my tea went cold fairly fast, especially with this cold weather.

The Garlic Noodles came out first along with the Cucumber Salad. The Cucumber Salad had chili flakes offered on the side, which definitely elevated it as a nice and fresh appetizer. The Garlic Noodles were, as the name indicates, very garlicy and buttery. A bit more rich than I was going for with my dietary restrictions but it was still very flavourful overall. The filet mignon was medium rare and nicely seasoned.

The Mango Salmon Roll came next, and it appeared that the inside was a California Roll. The topped salmon was fresh, but the mango itself did not seem to shine in anyway or compliment the flavours, it was a bit overpowered. That said, if I ordered a California roll I would have enjoyed it very much.

The last item was a Protein Roll, and I've never ordered one of these before but I'd say it was very fresh and did have a lot of protein filling, overall it was very enjoyable. It did not come with any wasabi, but we had enough from the first roll so it worked out fine. The Wasabi itself was not that hot today, but that may just from how it was prepared.

Overall a very good experience and the sushi was done really well. A little slow but take it with a grain of salt since this location just opened up today. The prices were fair especially for sushi and the portions are fair enough for a meal. Looking forward to seeing how this place does over time. Welcome to the...

I was forced to come to this restaurant as I am a finicky picky eater. Also, when I have a hankering for one thing and then have to go to a different unknown place because she blinks her eyes sexy at me...you can see how it starts off on the wrong foot. Now, I must say I am glad (as the man) that I allowed her to pick and agreed...(remember the sexy fluttering eyes).. Once we walked in, I was amazed at how clean, efficient, and orderly everything was... and we had not even sat down yet. Once we sat down, our server immediately asked if we had a drink in mind. (Oh yes, we received our menues at the table). Miss sexy eyes had the iced green tea, and I had the hot green tea. Then my partner attempted to suggest items for me... I said.."HM! I can order for myself!" I then picked the item she suggested...sigh. The lights (appetizers) came quickly, the cucumber salad (very good), and the "adda mommy" beans (something like that.. but still needed a bit of salt, in my opinion).😁 I ordered the steak salad meal, and she ordered some sushi roll thingy with salmon. My food was amazing, and I am really picky with my steak...any-hoo, I plan to come back and try the Catsuey curry chicken... Brianna was our server. She was very nice and knowledgeable, and she cracked up when she asked if I needed a fork, and my response was .." I am an expert with chopsticks because I watch Korean shows.." 😁 Highly recommend stopping by here. You will not regret it. P.S. I am just fooling with the misspelled words, Grammer errors, and words out of...

I want to start off this review with a shout-out to our server, Briana. Attentive, friendly, called out special features to the menu, recommended a visit to their sister restaurant in Escondido, and the service of each dish was quick. Briana is the reason for 5 stars.

Now, onto the food. Options were very nice, something for everyone. My dinner date is a finicky eater, and every time I suggest sushi for dinner, queue the dramatics. LOL! But, my dinner date not only found SEVERAL options that were non sushi, but he actually had a tough time choosing! He landed on the pepper steak salad, and I had the lemon salmon roll. Our starters were garlic edamame and cucumber salad. A few flakes of sea salt would have gone a long way on the edamame. Cucumber salad was perfectly dressed and not overly vinegary. My roll was fresh and delicious. The steak salad was nicely seasoned and melt in your mouth tender.

The restaurant is exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. There's a large screen TV in the back dining room with Japanese food shows playing. We loved this. The music playlist was very nice and set at a good volume for conversation. We...
