PanPan Wok — Restaurant in Vista

If you want large portions of average chinese food for a great price, this is your place! My fingers are crossed that some of Panda Wok's imperfections are remedied as they become more established. Best of luck to them.

The good: The prices are extremely good, the portions are massive, and you can try the different entrees with toothpicks before you have to choose!

The bad: The food is very ordinary, and relatively bland (especially the chow mein) compared to most other American Chinese food I have had. The plastic flatware and styrofoam containers are some of the cheapest I have ever used. The tines on my fork broke when I tried to spear two green beans at the same time.

The other: The atmosphere is.... strange? The place feels unfinished. There are handwritten, sharpied, paper signs indicating where to order and pay, and one that simply says "hiring". During my meal a few of the other workers were also eating in the same area, understandable as it was slow, but they all appeared to be eating different (better looking) chinese food out of nicely patterned blue and white bowls. The back right corner of the restaurant was occupied by young children doing schoolwork and possibly the manager or owner (not in uniform) supervising them. I felt unwelcome and out of place eating at the tables. I highly recommend getting...

Best Chinese restaurant price wise. The food is always fresh. The buffet offers a nice selection and you also have the option of off buffet ordering as well. They will accommodate anything you ask for via special order. I particularly enjoy the fried fish, coconut shrimp, orange chicken, and over stuffed wanton soup brimming with lots of veggies and wanton in a homemde broth. My husband's favorites are the kung pao and mushroom chicken. We frequent here at least weekly. The portions are HUGE!!! I always get 2 if not 3 meals out of 1 visit. The staff are very friendly and greet us by name. They also have a self serve never ending soda pop bar and condiment section. If you are in the mood for Chinese food this should be your go to place! They put Panda Express to shame in quality, quantity, and choices.

Please don't hesitate to give them a try, you won't be dissappointed!!

Definitely worth 5 stars...

Panda Wok is fantastic. The food is all very flavorful and even more so when you order entrees fresh. The Egg Flower soup is extremely warming and satisfying. Everything has an insane portion size, so you will no doubt be full at the end of eating. I also really love the sauce station at the end of the line where you can get Teriyaki, soy, duck, and chili sauce - as well as spicy mustard and other tasty additions. Employees are really friendly and the woman running the place takes customer satisfaction very seriously. As another review said, you can see the pride the staff has in the food and what they do. Will definitely return for work lunch many more times!
