Disappointed to say the least. We’ve been coming to Habanero for years but after tonight we’re done :/ It’s been awhile since we’ve had food from here so decided to get it last night but was super disappointed. For starters the cost was outrageous. I added everything up and included taxes but our totals just did not match. Then the food was just not good. I hardly had any meat, and the meat that i did have was super chewy. Nachos were dry and half the chips were still left after the toppings were gone. And the tacos were the most upsetting. We’ve always thought their tacos were the best in town. But there was enough grease on them to dump into its own cup. I mean I haven’t seen that much grease ever in a taco. And the flavor was non existent. Unfortunately won’t be spending money...

Friends and I were passing through and stopped for lunch on a Monday. Salsa was like cilantro flavored tomato juice with no heat and almost no flavor. Chips were stale. I got the burrito verde; Similar to the salsa the verde sauce was runny and only vaguely tasted of tomatillo as if someone had whispered the word nearby instead of actually putting any flavor in. Somehow the vegetables on the burrito were undercooked and crunchy (borderline raw) while the steak was overcooked and leathery and yet again mostly flavorless. The chicken in my friends' arroz con pollo and nachos was also chewy and flavorless. My meal and soda with tax was 20 bucks and I didn't even finish half of it. Waitresses seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else.

Unpleasant experience, would...

I kept my expectations low as this is Northern Indiana and well… you know. Lol

I actually enjoyed it a lot. Definitely beats Mexican food in Ohio! I had the quesadilla with rice and it was pretty good. They offer fresh guacamole which was nice to see as so many restaurants are moving towards that guacamole ‘sauce’ these days. The salsa had a good flavor but no heat. I asked the waitress for from chile sauce and she brought me some restaurant made green salsa that was YUMMY! It’s off the menu, so if you want some heat - just ask and they’ll bring you some.

Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely go back if we visit the area again.

Side note: I took a pic of the high chairs because they really are the cutest...

Friends recommended Habañero Grill to us since they knew we like authentic food and appreciate good service. We were not disappointed! The fantastic service started our first experience and has continued each visit. Natalia has taken care of us several times and is our favorite server. Her patience and humor with my elderly in-laws (who cannot hear well) when we take them always is comforting and reassuring. Molcajete dinner (pic included here) was amazing! Fish tacos, delicious! Fajitas done right! The restaurant is always neat, clean, and welcoming. All the staff is friendly and helpful. High recommendations from me.

This place is almost your run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant in American - a reliable stop to get a solid amount of delicious food at a reasonable price. And they deliver on that. But I came here and grabbed the "Habanero Molcajete" and this dish was 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘤. You get the standard plate of beans and rice, but then they bring out this sizzling hot bowl of various meats and drop a huge chunk of queso on top. I've never seen this before. It's a bit expensive, but worth it. Service was fast even though it was late in the day, and the restaurant has a lot of seating and cool decor.
