Miranda's Cake Cafe — Restaurant in Wagoner

On Yelp there is a picture of a delicious looking serving of Miranda's Cake Café biscuits and gravy. Something I can’t pass up. Also picture after picture of delightful pastries: scones, artistically decorated cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and amazing cakes. It looked so good that we made a drive to Wagoner, just to give Miranda's Cake Café a try. It turned out to be a miserable mess.

The only thing good about this café is the coffee and the very nice lady that was working today. Possibly Miranda herself. I ordered a Mocha and my wife had a dry cappuccino. Both drinks good. Only get coffee here, nothing else.

The pastry case was almost empty. A couple of muffins, Danish and cookies, that’s all. Not much to choose from. My wife settled on the Danish which was fair. I ordered the double biscuits and gravy. It was disgusting. A room temperature, tasteless bowl of cat food was what I was served. Check the picture. I think most restaurants would be ashamed to set that mess in front of a customer and then charge them $8 for it. When checking out the nice lady asked me “how was the food?” I just smiled and said fine. My morning was ruined, no sense ruining hers too.

We've eaten here a few times over the years and it's usually a similar experience. They're usually understaffed for the business they have so it's generally pretty slow service. Today was no exception. They have changed their service a bit since the last time we were here though in that they seat you and bring you menus which was actually nice. We ordered drinks and then it was probably 10 minutes before they came back to take out order. It seemed as though there was only 1 waitress with one large table and a few smaller tables she was helping. Once we ordered I'd say we got our food in a reasonable amount of time though. My wife ordered a turkey and avocado sandwich and it was honestly delicious! I ordered an Italian sub kind of sandwich and it was much less impressive. We waited a while after finishing our lunch before just standing up and approaching the counter about checking out. The girl who helped us was the same who served us and she didn't seem to know how their register system worked when I had a card without a chip on it. All in all the food was decent, the pricing was a bit steep, and the service was subpar. Pretty much what we have come to expect...

They did an amazing job on my double birthday! The cake was moist, tasty and the design was on point! I even had to reschedule the party at the last minute because of things out of my control (bluegress festival). They were great at working with me. My only issue was the misspelling of my youngest sons name. They messed it up not once but twice even though it was written down on an email order form. They were, however great about fixing it and then even delivered it to the party location at not extra cost. I would 100% order another cake in the future! The...
