If you are looking for fancy this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for authentic "Mexican" food, go in, sit down and order, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The menu is fairly typical of most Mexican restaurants that have had to modify their food in order to appeal to the American palate. The staples of beans and rice were fresh, hot and well seasoned. The entrees were done well and the servings were generous. More than half of the patrons were Latino... Always a good sign. Adelitas is small enough that the dishes are made to order and can be prepared exactly as you like. The restaurant must have been a gas station in the distant past, aside from the two overhead doors, the conversion is complete. The staff was very attentive, quick to help, and kept things clean. They also have an ice cream counter which I didn't try as it was 14° outside. Overall a nice experience. Locally owned and operated. Don't let the facade fool you, it's the food and people that count.

Todo muy bien. Everything very good. Stopped at Wahoo for a quick breakfast and glad we did. Their breakfast burritos were tasty and filling. Came with mild and hot sauce, the hot sauce had a kick. Peppers on the side were a nice treat but caution, it’s has a big kick. Stopping later for their dinner plates. Nice atmosphere to sit down to eat some authentic Mexican food.

How can you not love a garage conversion authentic Mexican food restaurant with a V8 hanging from the legacy steel beams of combustion days gone by. This place is a stealth jewel of Saunders County, as well as Eastern Nebraska. Great food with an honest atmosphere. They also have handmade ice cream selections that are off the menu. Just go.

I want to share a little something about this wonderful restaurant. Today is my birthday. I was debating on what I wanted to have for lunch as I was out running some errands, and I thought carne asada sounded really good. So I headed to the place that makes the best around, Adelita's. I've eaten here many, many times before, and I guess never realized that they were closed on Sunday. As was evidenced when I tried to open the door and it was locked. There were a few cars in the parking lot, so I figured they were open. As I was walking back to my truck, I lovely young lady opened the door and asked if I needed anything. I said I was hoping to have their carne asada for lunch, but I didn't realize they were closed. She looked back into the restaurant, said something in Spanish, then opened the door and invited me in. I said "are you sure?". She just smiled and again asked me to come inside. The whole family was there just enjoying lunch for themselves, so I sat down and enjoyed a great conversation with the owner as his grandchildren ran about laughing and playing games. I was served my favorite dish, of course, and it was just a wonderful experience all around. I hope the good people of Wahoo Nebraska realize what a gem they have in their little town. Absolutely wonderful people who make amazing Mexican food that is so delicious. I will support this great little restaurant as long as it stands. I would give you 6 stars if i could. Thank you all so much for making my birthday that much...

Talk about improvement. Zestos sucked all 36 times it opened. Then De Leon's came and was somehow even worse than the other De Leon's restaurants I've been to (and that's BAD).

But then Adelitas came. The food is amazing. Easily 5x De Leons and probably twice as good as Acapulco at least.

The wait staff is awesome. They know their menu so well. They are polite and willing to explain things.

The atmosphere is much more laid back than any other restaurants in town. People seem happy or at least not angry to be working. The building is great, with a mix of new and old decor. I would have to say that Adelitas is the best restaurant in Wahoo, or at least a close tie...
