We have been here 3 times , driving the 35 mins from Omaha each time. That’s a decent drive to give someone your business when there is plenty of bars in the Omaha area.
The place is very cool. The bathrooms are really clean. The food is very good. We’ve had the Philly, waffle burger , breaded mushrooms, chicken n waffles and several cocktails each time. All have been very good.
The reason for the low score - service. It’s not just bad, it’s terrible. Each time we’ve been here it’s gotten progressively worse. The 1st time, we chopped it up to it being new and working the kinks out. The second time - our waitress (young dark hair) on the patio was so bad we ended up just walking to the bar ourselves. We told ourselves we’ll never sit in that waitresses section again - she was that bad. 3rd time - we asked the owner to reserve a table for a band night. We had a group of friends coming out for their 1st time. Get there - table not saved. Irritating sure but we found other seating. Took 10 mins for the blonde waitress to come to us. Then we waited 35 mins for our drinks and nothing came. People around us were getting up to get their own canned beers. The blonde waitress ( she’s kinda weird) kept coming out and asking the tables around us how they were doing and what they needed - when it was obvious they too were waiting on their drinks. We could hear their order n convo with her. A older couple found a table near us and had sat there 20 mins and still had not been approached for anything. My wife went to the bar to get our drinks ourselves. They had one bar tender - for a Saturday night - with a well known band playing , who the owners are part of. Not a good idea. My wife while waiting for the bartender watches her muddle a drink in the metal cup and she’s looking for the strainer to pour it, she can’t find it. So the bar tender uses her fingers to strain the drink into the customers cup. That was pretty gross. Bar tender finally walks over asks my wife if we have a server. We tell her we do but have waited 35+ minutes for our drinks and we just wanted to order from the bar instead. The bar tender shows her a stack of orders printed and tells her she’s going to have to wait. Pffft - you think so ? Well, no we don’t have to wait. Our money will spend anywhere. We left. Kind of wish we had ordered food so it woulda been wasted at that point. Seen the owner on the way out and advised him what was going on. He appeared sincerely apologetic but it really isn’t going to change anything. After 3 visits with bad to terrible service we have decided it will be a long time before we come back out. It truly sucks to feel that way because the place is so cool and food is great. But the terrible service out weighs it all . If they don’t fix it soon, I can see the place losing business n customers fast. The small town of wahoo isn’t big enough to keep the place profitable for long. They’re going to need people like us to drive in from Omaha and spend our money there. Well, we’re done for awhile. The service is literally terrible and has driven us away. IF we ever go back and it’s changed , I’ll reflect it with a different score and review. Until then , it is what it is. Owners may not like this review, but it’s honest. I hope they fix it. We ended up driving to Rumors Bar and grill in Weston, a 10 min drive from Wahoo. The food was great and so was the service.
In regards to the table reservation - the weekend before you gave me your phone and had me enter my info to save the table. You even gave me the table # to put down. We don’t need any incentive to come back. We’d just like decent service & not get better treatment because you know we are back. I’m sure we’ll be back - when ? No clue. Not in a rush. I...
Read moreAbsolutely blown away! 🌟 I recently had the pleasure of dining at the newest gem in Wahoo, and let me just say — this place is a must-visit! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the kind of warmth and genuine hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. Now, let’s talk food. I highly recommend starting with the breaded portobello mushrooms — crispy, golden perfection on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Each bite was a savory explosion that had me wondering how soon I could order them again. Jeannine in the kitchen knows what she's doing — it’s clear they take pride in every plate. And speaking of pride, the real star of the night was our astounding waitress, Jackie. She was an absolute delight — attentive without hovering, full of great recommendations, and so genuinely kind it felt like we were being served by a longtime friend. Her energy was infectious, and she made our whole experience unforgettable. Whether you’re local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. Delicious food, top-notch service, and a cozy small-town charm that’s hard to beat. Can’t wait to...
Read moreThe owners have paid great attention to the atmosphere, menu and service. Everyone is kind, helpful and friendly. The food is solid, the service is accommodating and friendly and the owners are open-minded and working out any bugs presented to them. All new restaurants have growing pains and deserve the time and opportunity to work them out before being written off. Wahoo is lucky to have the opportunity to have consistent, high quality live music, another option for a good meal that isn’t fast food and owners who are invested in...
