Branding Iron Cafe — Restaurant in Wahoo

What an absolute fantastic place with good people! Our family drove in from Omaha on our way to a basketball game and I searched online for "small town cafes" and this came up with a great rating. The moment we walked in, it was exactly what I was looking for. A small number of tables, bar stool type seating and nice small-town atmosphere. The waitress was exceptional. My parents brought along their birthday gifts for our 4 year-old daughter to open over lunch. We had a nice celebration, ordered our food (which was absolutely excellent) and had a nice lunch. Once we were ready for the check, our waitress asked us if it would be okay for our birthday girl to have a piece of their peanut butter pie to celebrate her birthday; such a nice gesture and my daughter's eyes lit up once they brought it out with 4 candles:) It was such a good experience, only one you would find in a small-town cafe like this one. All of us commented "this place is perfect" and I'd recommend it to anyone driving through Wahoo or who would like to find a nice place to enjoy time with family. It almost felt like we knew everyone for years, as friendly as they were to us. Thank you very much for the experience, we'll never forget it. And we look forward to seeing you again! A friend of mine took me here today(3/3/2023) for biscuits and gravy. Whoooo. What a great choice, it was huge so took half of it home. It was excellent. The staff was terrific. Very friendly atmosphere in the cafe. I intend to visit here again, and again. I recommend this for friendly atmosphere, great people and GREAT food. 👍👍👍😀😀 Allyn. 3/31. Yahoo at Wahoo. Just returned from breakfast at the Branding Iron again. Same results. Excellent all around, food, service, atmosphere. If you haven’t been there yet, recommend you go and make sure you’re hungry. Shopping in small towns is one of our favorite ways to spend a day. The 4 of us always find fantastic stores and we love to hit cafes/diners. We were told to eat lunch here. I am a bit of a Hot Beef Sandwich snob. Let me tell you the owner knows how to make a top notch dish. Tender chunks of roast beef tucked into between bread with delicious mount of mashed potatoes with just the perfect gravy. It is now my favorite Hot Beef Sandwich. I got a 1/2 of a sandwich which was nice to see as an option. The only mistake made on this visit was made by me. I should have ordered a full hot beef...
