L George's — Restaurant in Walled Lake

I’ve been going there with my wife for years. Other than the well water pop, it was pretty good….until yesterday. I went to lunch there with my Dad. It was really busy (no one’s fault) and we had no choice but to pick the table that was closest to the bathrooms. I asked our server if our table had been cleaned and she said yes. It wasn’t clean because the bus girl started cleaning it after we sat down. There were flies that were buzzing around our faces and our wobbly table while trying to cut our food was frustrating. To top everything else , we actually had to ask for utensils and extra napkins while enduring another server’s snooty attitude who spent more time talking to co-workers than doing her job right. The people that work their, George and Lula themselves included really take their time and treat you like family, the servers know your name, George and Lula do too as well as the bus boys. Even if they aren't waiting on you they stop by to say hi. On Sunday's one of their busiest days George keeps the floor flowing. The wait is minimal. Lastly but not least, their food is impeccable and orders move out very quickly and you will never be left with an empty cup of coffee or even a partial one. It's the love and details that George and Lula as well as the rest of the staff that makes it special. Can you tell I love these family members and extended family who run this place. Went in to This restaurant today at 12:30 PM passing through the area on my road trip my wife and I stepped in and went to the take out counter to place an order the waitress there had a line that we joined she serve two people who were there before us then served a gentle who came after me and my wife but that wasn’t an issue the real issue is what she did after she cashed out some orders then walked from the counter leaving us dumbfounded I couldn’t help but wonder if because we are African Americans she or the two other waitress didn’t see the need to address us we left still hungry and questioning the reality would not recommend at all if it was possible to leave a NO STAR !!!
