I have visited Moonlight on a few occasions when I am in the area and have constantly been disappointed. On my recent dinner visit I was the only customer there; I should have known and left. The same 5-song dance mix that was on repeat made the whole ordeal even worse.
The waitress/cashier who came to take my order was not very professional and disinterested in serving. She mentioned that every little modification was an upcharge. I've never heard of a charge to substitute baba ghanouj for double hummus; the "fresh" bread I'll get to below. The combo tray was covered in Sumac, it made the kefta-kabob inedible and the yellow rice was very undercooked. The shawarma was the saving grace, the beef and chicken were both excellent. The soft drinks tasted off, they were not Coca Cola or Pepsi as claimed
As for the "fresh" bread mentioned above, it was not fresh and tasted like refrigerator. I literally watched as she took the bread in a basket, covered it with a dinner napkin and microwaved it. The waitress then swore it freshly baked right there and then for me, when I commented on how bad it was. I could see that the bread oven was clearly off; and could see and hear her microwaving it through the opening in the kitchen door. She proceeded to touch the bread with her bare hands to prove its freshness to me. To make matters worse she walks to the kitchen and asks the cook loudly if she should make some in the oven, and he responded "no".
There's plenty of other Middle Eastern restaurants to choose from in the area, I hope Moonlight can...
Read moreI love this place have ordered there quite a bit. However this past time I ordered for myself and my sister in law after talking the place up we both had ordered the chicken shawarma lunch and you assemble the sandwich yourself they give you the chicken veggies ect. I called after picking up our order and said "does the chicken lunch special come with bread?" I knew it did. The lady said "no it doesn't come with extra bread" I said "so it doesn't come with bread to make the sandwich?" She said " it does" I said "okay well I just picked up two lunch specials 5 mins ago and there isn't any bread" she said "I gave you bread" I said "well it's not here" she said "I'm 90% sure you have it but you can come and get more anyways" ..... Terrible customer service how about I was 100% sure it wasn't there because I am the one that had the carry out infront of me and she basically was inadvertantly calling me a liar! I was angry and embarrassed. We ended up just using a tortilla which my sister in law had at her house which obviously isn't the same as a pita so the meal wasn't as good. I wasn't going back there after she called me a liar and I wouldn't go back there now because of that horrible customer service! First time I had an issue and it was...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. Every time I speak with the older gal (maybe Amy) over the phone to place an order for take out, she sounds irritated and tries to hang up prior to me finishing my order. I really hope this has nothing to do with race, as I am white and feel like I am treated like an alien every time I support their business. Today I was explaining that I wanted the shawarma dinner with rice, extra pickles, and tomatoes. She told me it doesn’t come with pickles (which it always does). Fast forward to me spending $40+, picking up my order, and driving 25 minutes home, she ended up giving me 2 boxes of just chicken and a few pieces of pita bread. She refused to fix this order and said it was my fault - if I wanted this fixed I would need to pay for a new one. I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year and love their food, but I will never be returning here after this experience. Very...
