Retro Taku is the store I dreamed of as a kid growing up in Walled Lake. As an avid video game collector since my first Wii and DS, this place is everything I could want—fairly priced games, a constantly refreshed selection, and even imported items you won’t find at most other local retro game stores. The staff are phenomenal—some stand-out gems who are truly passionate about what they do.

Everything I’ve bought here has worked perfectly, and their Instagram updates make it easy to snag new arrivals. They’ll even hold items for you, which is a lifesaver for high-turnover games.

While their Wii U, 3DS, and GameCube sections could use a boost, I understand how tough the market is for those consoles right now. Even with a few items priced slightly above market, the in-person experience make it worthwhile. However, I’ve found some games priced way below their value—so it all balances out.

Absolutely amazing place. If you need anything to do with any game console I can even think of they have it. I went here because I needed a random assortment of cables and adapters for some 10 and 20 year old consoles and they had every thing I needed. I also purchased a handful of games and I expected them to work, but what I didn't expect was the quality. I have never seen a more clean disk used in my entire life. I have purchased games used for years ever since I started at blockbuster. These games looked new, all of them. These games some of which being 16 years old looked brand new out of a sealed case!!! I could not be happier with my experience here not to mention how everything is priced very fairly and competitively. VERY pleased to have stumbled upon this shop! Learning about their Instagram/Facebook presence has turned me into a videogame MANIAC! They regularly post their trades to their social mediaswhich allows me to browse and shop their new arrivals even when I'm out of town! The staff is friendly and approachable, the store is large and well-lit, and the deals are HOT. They can also transfer games from location to location so I don't have to drive all the way out to Madison Heights if I'd rather pickup at Walled Lake and vice versa. This shop is a real boon during these wild, wild days of "big box stores no longer supporting physical media" and should definitely be on your "to visit" list! VERY HIGHLY...
