Read moreWent for breakfast with my girlfriend after reading so many great reviews. I ordered an omelette, while my girlfriend ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. It took about half an hour to get our food which is a little long for eggs, though I think there is only 1 cook so we understood.
Half of our silverware had food caked on it. Not a great first impression, but again we try to be understanding and not make a fuss.
Then came our food! My girlfriend's corned beef hash was home made and tasted great! BUT. Her scrambled eggs weren't totally cooked and were runny. The home fries were totally unseasoned too, as were mine.
My omelette came out as a scramble. The eggs were wet and runny, and didn't appear to be beaten completely as I had big globs of undercooked egg whites mixed in. They were so wet it partially soaked the bottom piece of toast on my plate.
I hate writing negative reviews. I'd have left 3 stars if the overall experience leaned positive, but I think it was outweighed by the negative. Maybe I can bring myself to try their lunch or dinner which many reviews rave about, but I don't think I'll return...
Read moreOn an early morning errand with my son, we decided to try Henry's for breakfast. I hadn't walked through the door of this place for several years since it had changed hands several times. After looking over the specials menu, I decided on steak, eggs, home fries, & English muffin. I also ordered up a grapefruit juice. My son had a farm omelette also with spuds & toast. He made mention that it was made with fresh mushrooms, and said it was excellent. The eggs I had were cooked as ordered, but what was really the gem of this breakfast was the top shelf steak, the best breakfast steak in memory. Overall, a terrific breakfast for both of us. Service was spot on, very warm & friendly. So why not five stars? One word: cost. $34.00+ for 2, BEFORE tip, for breakfast, is pretty pricey in my book, despite the quality steak, and overall...
