The woman that took my order was very friendly and nice. I got my lunch to eat there as I was working on the road. They had 2 tables, one that seats 6 and one that seats 4. No issues, it was described as having tables and I got one. I went on a hot day. The temperature inside was brutal. It was so hot they probably needed a sauna license. It wouldn't have bothered me so much but I ordered a simple lunch special. A pork roll (egg roll), pork fried rice, and shrimp with lobster sauce. It took over 20 minutes to get just the egg roll. No plate or anything, just a paper sleeve. Unlike Massachusetts and a lot of RI and NH they use packets for duck sauce. Typically found down south. Not the apple or apricot based sauce that the rest of New England loves. After a half hour the food came. I considered asking for ice to pack my groin and armpits to avoid heat stroke. New England going back to the Polynesian influence and the access to ingredients like molasses have always made their rice brown. The rice here was yellow and didn't contain much flavor. The shrimp with lobster sauce was a white sauce made with egg whites. The shrimp were cooked right and the sauce wasn't horrible. However, traditional New England Chinese lobster sauce is usually brown made with either oyster sauce or black bean paste and contains minced meat, usually pork. Also originated in the Boston area restaurants as one of the ways they prepared Chinese lobster. The only difference was there was a little more ginger in the original sauce. If you are from MA you will be extremely disappointed. I also have to note that 30 minutes to get lunch in a sauna is...
Read moreThe place is hot, I mean really, really hot. I waited 15 minutes to place an order for 2 egg rolls, which were kind of small, which is no biggie in itself. Unfortunately, they tasted like burnt grease. It's a shame because I love patronizing small businesses here in town, but sadly, I won't go back. I'm sure the owners are very nice people, but really, not even a fan in the restaurant and to make a customer wait to place an order while the lady at the counter had a conversation, speaking solely Chinese, with the guy doing the cooking is very certainly not even fair customer service. It was probably her husband, but it seemed like it almost didn't matter that there was a customer willing to stand there, in that excessive heat to place an order. Originally, I was going to order the Beef and Mushrooms, but waiting for her conversation to end with whoever it was just made me decide to order something I thought would be fast. The lady even said to me, "Go outside if you like," to wait for 2 egg rolls, which took almost 15 minutes to deep fry them as well. When you add that to the time waiting to place an order, with nobody else there, just seemed like my business, any business for that matter didn't concern her, or her communications partner. I wish them well but I came, I saw, I waited, I tasted and,...
