Extreme disappointment! Started off with choosing a combo meal with most of the choices for meats adds an extra dollar to the entree. Regardless, choosing items like tempura and the beef, we were told as not available as choices (not because they ran out) but because they want you to buy those same items as appetizers which are more expensive. Why not remove them from the menu (cross it out or cover it)? Ended up getting the tempura anyway as an appetizer but once it was served, the taste and texture was no where near what it should be. Batter was thick, doughy, and worst of all had old oil, burnt taste. BTW, five piece shrimp only tempura is $7.99 and tempura with mixed vegetables only had two pieces of shrimp (what?) at $10.99 (what we ordered). The rest of the combo meal that included mixed sashimi was sub par and was a little fishy. We asked for water and was told they don't have any, but was available as bottled water. It was definitely a bust on our decision to dine here. Guess it should have been a warning when we walked in and there weren't any patrons. Definitely not going back.

With a couple of sushi places around, I decided to try this place. I walked in and it was completely empty, with outdated decor. I was the only customer, so I was seated quickly. The server was quick, but she was also really curt. If you're expecting an all American dining service experience, don't expect that here. It was totally Asian style service. Even with that, the service was good. As for the food, it took some time to come out. I only ordered gyoza (6 pieces) as well as the Sake Salmon. The gyoza wasn't totally quite like the way I prefer them, but they were alright just the same. As for the sushi, the salmon was absolutely soft and delicious. The sizes are quite large (in my opinion) so they're not exactly bite size. Overall, for $21, it was quite decent.

Went there today and it was pretty okay. The quality was alright but they charge on every thing. They even charge for WATER. The waitress was really rude and when I asked what does the bento combo come with all she said was “just order from the menu”. She seemed and acted like I was bugging her when the resturant was empty and only a small family of 3 was in there with me. Not going back.

Just like many others and as a local, the reviews are correct about wait times. This business must not thrive off financial need rather than preference of their time in general. We placed a phone order with two separate bills, was told two different wait times. Understood as one order would come first, but it was a 45 min difference. We have ordered before and are aware they quote the wait time and regardless when you arrive it’s never ready. I’m only writing this review because it was more of a poor customer service when we arrived. We showed up for the first order after the 45 mins knowing it would be a bit later and thought to have a beverage while we wait, mind you it’s a very larger order so we’re happy to accommodate a short period after the estimated time, the woman at the counter yelled from their Covid ordering station from across from the back sushi bar, “I said 1.5 hours”, we said we’re aware and would like to wait in the restaurant and order some drinks. After speaking with the server we confirmed none of either order had been started on. People in the restaurant looked to have been waiting as well. Overall I’m thinking they generate enough business to keep them content so regardless of reviews they will still get business. This area doesn’t have a lot of options for Sushi so it’ll continue to run this way. They also have better pricing than the only other option nearby. Sushi in Walnut doesn’t really jump out when thinking “let’s get sushi”, but I’m sure it fills...
