I've eaten at this restaurant before and thought it was pretty good. Today I came to walnut to do some errands and went to eat at their place for lunch. As soon as I entered, the waiter didn't even give me a glass of water. This I can accept. Ordered a share of the dishes, brought over and told me that the kitchen chef thought it was a takeaway order, so they took takeaway boxed to me. That's fine, I can accept that too. When I finally paid, I tipped something, but probably not much. The waitress came to me and told me that I gave too little, threatening me with her age and saying that it was unreasonable to give like that. She told me to give at least 15 percent, but you didn't even give me a glass of water, so why should I? Because you're old? Who's money comes from the wind? And it's not like tipping is mandatory, is it? I'm really pissed off. It's not that I can't afford to pay this, it's that I found the attitude of the store clerk irritating. I was going to curse at the time, but I held back later. If that's the attitude, I won't eat there again after that. Really...

Great option for Chinese and/or Taiwanese food in the area. The restaurant is spacious and clean, with plenty of parking in the lot. The owner Stella was super kind, and it’s clear that a lot of thought was put into designing the menu so that there are options for everyone.

This time, I ordered dishes like the chili oil wontons, sweet and sour ribs, and eggplant with basil. The eggplant was tender with plenty of basil and was delicious with the rice, especially because the dish was on the oilier side (as classic eggplant dishes are). Wontons were pretty standard, slightly spicy. My favorite was the sweet and sour ribs—the breading was just thick enough for the hint of crunchy texture, and balance of sweet and sour was well done. The portion was reasonable for the price. Looking forward...

This new restaurant replaced the old Jaspers Cafe with new decorations and revised menu. The food is authentic Taiwanese dishes. Inside looks very clean, food well prepared and waitress (very nice lady) speaks fluent English/ Cantonese. Her Mandarin has an accent but no problem communicating. I definitely recommend those that craves Taiwanese cuisine...
