Clearwater Bagel — Restaurant in Walnut

It's becoming more rare in today's franchise and corporate world to have a connection with an establishment. I guess I'm more old school/traditional and loyalty to shopping local is something I try to do as often as possible. I have known the owners of Clearwater Bagel for quite a few years now and they are two of the most wonderful human beings I've ever met. This is a 100% family owned and operated establishment and their passion is irrefutably present in all of the delicious food and drinks they offer. If you speak English, they've got you covered. Mandarin, yep! Portuguese, isso também! 😁 Want a Bagel with flavored cream cheese? They do that. Want a Bagel Sandwich with extra toppings, they'll do that too. I love the Cinnamon Sugar Bagel with Strawberry Cream cheese. It's like candy. If you want a custom order for a gathering, they do that too (with advanced notice of course). The best bagels ever. Clearwater had been around for over 20 years and I started coming here since I was in high school. Even when I moved away, when I was ever back in Walnut, I would stop by. The offering of bagel flavors have definitely expanded over the years. Not only are their bagels perfect in bite, chewiness, texture, all their flavors really deliver and pack a punch. Savory or sweet, there's a flavor for just about everyone. I recently tried the honey and the aloha. Sooooo good!!! They also make killer bagel sandwiches. Open faced and traditional. My old time favorite is no longer on the menu (bring back the Birds Nest please) but it just shows they're innovating all the time. Love bagels? Try Clearwater. You're in for a treat! This was our first trip to Clearwater Bagel. My wife ordered a bagel with lox and I had a bagel breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. Both were very good with larger than average portions. So why 3 stars? We also ordered coffee and a plain bagel with cream cheese. The coffee tasted fine, but the only options for creamer were sweet Carnation Coffee-Mate or Vanilla Coffee-Mate. Powdered Coffee-Mate was another bad option. A little Half and half or milk for those of us that don't want sweet coffee would be nice. The plain bagel was fine, but the cream cheese was literally runny and did not taste like regular cream cheese. Both of us agreed it was not something we would order again. Also ordering extra bagels was not an option due to staffing issues. I suggest bringing your own Half and Half and skip the plain cream cheese.
