We were seated by a child. Kind of strange.. We ordered queso first thing. Waited for a long time. She finally came over and we ordered, still hadnât brought the queso. Waited a long time again, before flagging her down to ask about the queso. Her response? âI think they have that...I mean itâs a Mexican restaurant, right?â Again strange. (How does the waitress NOT know if they have queso???) She came back and said they donât have it. I asked if they donât have it or if they were OUT. She said âthey donât have itâ â although it was ON the menu. She spilled the glass bottle of coke later on our chips while walking to the table. Never apologized or offered to get a full bottle of coke etc. She seemed like she had never even been there before we came in!
Kind of a joke for a Mexican restaurant. Italian music playing. The rice looked like they dumped a bag of frozen mixed vegetables into it (cubed carrots, peas and green beans! Mexican rice???). All workers were Caucasian....didnât feel very authentic đ¤ˇđźââď¸ (No offense to caucasians!)
My husbands burrito came out completely dry. No cheese on top, no sauce.
Had to ask multiple times for refills. Waitress never apologized for keeping us waiting.
Service was awful. Prices were ridiculous for what we got. The salsa was very spicy and more like Pico de Gallo. The chips were good...but again, what are good chips without real salsa or cheese queso?!
Would not recommend. Just seemed VERY strange amd badly managed. Maybe it was just a bad night. đ¤ˇđźââď¸ If that were the case, I just wish there would have been some explanation from the...
Read moreJust came from Houston so my standard for Mexican and Tex-Mex is probably pretty high. Showed up just before a dinner rush on a Saturday evening around 5:45pm. Fast with the chips and pico (which both tasted fresh and were very good.) Fast service in general. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the pitcher of margaritas. Probably 7 or 8 full sized 12oz drinks in the fish bowl of a pitcher they bring you so that's pretty great. I'm a big guy and was sharing it so it's hard to say how strong the drinks are but they tasted good.
Combo fajitas were good, one meal is large enough to share between two. The avocado green sauce was great on the beef flautas. Meat in the beef flautas also good. One con I'd say is that I ordered the fried plantains for dessert and the inside of each of them was pretty cold. I understand how you prep that so to an extent can see how this may happen but even the smaller ones were fairly cold in the center so that could be done better.
The best part of this place is an easy going atmosphere. Many families with children were quickly accommodated.
Side note: Owner/host/manager (whoever he is) has a dynamite moustache. So if you'reâ a facial hair watcher it might be worth a drop-in...
Read moreTerrible New Management â This Place Has Gone Downhill!
I used to love JalapeĂąos in Walpole, but ever since the new management took over, this place has gone completely downhill. The food quality has tankedâwhat used to be fresh and flavorful dishes now taste bland, greasy, and poorly made. You can tell theyâre cutting corners on ingredients and preparation, and itâs just not the same restaurant it used to be.
Whatâs even worse is how they run the place. Iâve noticed minors working behind the bar, handling alcohol, and even making drinks! Thatâs a huge red flag and incredibly unprofessional. Itâs clear that management has no regard for the rules or their employees, and it makes me wonder what other shady things are going on behind the scenes.
The service has also sufferedâorders take forever, and the staff seems overwhelmed and unhappy. Itâs a shame because this used to be a great spot, but with the way things are going, I wouldnât be surprised if they start losing loyal customers fast. Until they clean up their act (and their management), I wonât be back.
Avoid this place unless you want bad food, poor service, and an overall sketchy...
