Muffins, bagel sandwiches and pastries all taste delicious, there is a generous portion of eggs piled on the sandwiches as well. Highly recommend the banana chocolate chip muffin.
Unfortunately, my husband and I had an overall negative experience purchasing a small gender reveal cake for a family gathering.
The pros:
*It was ready as scheduled 5 days later, and the response time was prompt. *The cake tasted great, it was light and fluffy and sweet but not sickeningly so, and the berries were fresh and tart.
The cons:
We were told it was a 3 layer cake but it was a 2 layer so that was confusing. *Though it wasn’t very busy at the time, the associate who checked us out at the register informed us we were not standing in the correct spot, with a frown on her face and not in the nicest of tones. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don’t know. *The message on the cake was incorrect as it was missing a comma and exclamation point. I showed the message on my electronic order form. We could drive to their Medway location, 25 mins in the opposite direction, to have it re-done and elected not to. We were given a gift card to offset a portion of the cost. *The real fun came an hour later when we went to unbox the cake. We then learned the box it came in was too small for its size. When it was retrieved, the lid was plastic wrapped in a way that it was propped up about 1/2 inch higher. Little did we know this was the reason. When the lid was closed by the associate after showing us the cake, it apparently stuck to the top of the cake so when we opened it to cut it an hour later, most of the lettering was stuck to the top of the cake box and the rest was smeared. Our elderly relatives were disappointed they couldn’t take a picture of the cake to memorialize the occasion.
The cake tasted great, but a big part of the experience is getting a product as ordered, and appreciating the beauty before it’s consumed so while we will continue to get breakfast at Muffin House I don’t think we will order another cake...
Read moreOverall an utter abhorrence of a cafe. The place was packed, with no room to even turn, or really, move at all without hitting into someone. You look in the main area where the customers go, and there is one small walkway to place your order. When you look behind the counter, there is a surplus of space for the employees, who still manage to look like they don’t know what they’re doing. My order was messed up, and the person who rung me up did not even know how to add up the items I had or give change. After a decently long wait, the sandwiches I had ordered were cold and had mismatched toppings. The bagel was not even cooked on the inside, and it seemed as if it was still frozen. The muffins, which one would expect to be of at the very least serviceable quality, where mediocre to poor at best. After each muffin I ate I got a stomach ache, even spacing it out between hours. I don’t typically enjoy giving restaurants bad reviews. All my friends and acquaintances rave about this place saying that it’s “amazing” and that I “have got to try it right away”. To say the very least, they were wrong. This place is not worth the chance as the food doesn’t taste good and the entire situation in the place is a mess. I would give zero stars if I could. Update: my review was taken down by the owners after their mean spirited reply to my honest review. This censorship is unnecessary and just shows the immorality of the owners of...
Read moreAfter reading some of the negative reviews, I felt compelled to add my two cents to ensure people know what a delight muffin house is. As a former restaurant manager, I would have been ecstatic to have such an enthusiastic and high energy staff. While they are young and learning the ropes at what potentially is their first job, they are incredibly hospitable and make you feel welcome. You can always tell that a manager is present and keeping everything operationally fluid while engaging with guests. Too busy? Can’t move? Long wait times? It’s busy for a REASON, using an obvious piece of evidence of a successful establishment to leave a bad review is pathetic. Learn to slow down, give yourself extra time, give people grace. The coffee is great and flavors always tie in so well, pastries and sandwiches have always been to die for. Oh and don’t forget, it is a NEW location. It takes a LOT of hard work to perfect everything, and some of these bad reviews tell me these people haven’t spent a SECOND of their lives working in the service industry. Anyway, 6/5. This place is great and all my coworkers walk into the office with muffin house coffee and always have great things to say. Before you leave a bad review, try having your complaints resolved IN the establishment before you and your grumpy soul run to your phone to become a whiney...
