Depending on the server, you'll get decent service! This place has begun to decline massively, which is a huge disappointment b/c I used to frequent this place often w/ family when I lived in Boston.
We went on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't crazy busy. The waiter was friendly to start. We ordered Mango Licuados- to which they did NOT taste like mango, but instead a McD's vanilla shake. The waiter said they're made with flavored powder. We returned them and got ginger ales instead. We ordered 5 Enchiladas. When they arrive we noticed a bad odor coming from the cabbage. The Carne Asada meal salad was also bad. The waiter then tells us the fridge in the kitchen was malfunctioning and the kitchen must of mistakenly put the bad batch in our enchiladas. Ridiculous! So instead of enchiladas, the waiter says he will replace those meals, thinking he was going to bring some out w/ FRESH cabbage. Instead we got refried beans/cheese on tostadas. Thats it. We just left it and finished the "meals".
Time to pay. So, you'd think they would at least be complimentary due to the nasty smelling cabbage- but he charged us. Which was, whatever. Turned out to be $5 for the tostadas. When we received the bill, the waiter had charged us $8 for the "Mango" licuados. We ask about replacing the item on receipt for the drinks we actually got- ginger ales. He says "oh they're not that big of a difference in price anyways, just a couple pennies". ($7 for two glasses of ginger ale, really?!) We made him change it, anyway.
The second "fixed" bill comes along, and its $8 MORE expensive. This time b/c he charged us TIP. We say to him, "its not fair- we weren't served the meals we ordered b/c you served us bad ingredients" so we wanted for the tip to be removed. He then has the AUDACITY to say "well I'll take it off your bill but I am just going to charge it on your card anyways!". We couldn't believe it. We asked for the manager and after taking a quick walk around, he returns to say "the Manager is busy, you can write your complaint down here" and hands us his order receipt booklet. We proceed to ask another waitress about the manager on duty, she quickly responds saying "he's out for the day".
Point is, this waiter who looks like Cantinflas definitely made us never want to return to this restaurant again. The fact that they're serving smoothies that aren't the flavor they say they are AND preparing meals w/ food gone bad- is a HUGE NO NO! Not going back. I'd rather go to Moody Street in Waltham from now on....
Read moreThe food is great. The margaritas are fantastic 👏 😋. Our waitress wasn't so good. After receiving our meal after the appetizer she took the girls with the appetizer plates dropped off our food and literally disappeared. I went to look for her inside the restaurant and was no where to be found. I needed a fork so I could eat my meal. So needless to say we waited a good 35 minutes and nothing never came to check on us or even ask how everything was and to see if we needed anything. At this point we just wanted our check and to go boxes. Still waited the outside dining only had 3 tables it was not busy at all the family next to us had two little kids and they waited just as long to get the kid's deserts. The kid's were 2 and 3 well behaved little boys. They were there before us and they still were there when we left. I finally seen the hostess standing outside and I told her I couldn't find our waitress and then I seen her just hanging out talking with the hostess on the other side. It was ridiculous 🙄. Management needs to speak with her if they want to have there guest's coming back. I definitely recommend this place as long as you get a...
Read moreGood afternoon. I was at your restaurant with my family last month. We drove up from New Jersey to visit my recently married sister here in Boston. They recommended other restaurants, but I was able to convince them to try your place. The food was amazing. Your cooks are great. We have a small puppy, 15 pounds. We were very politely seated outside due to the no dog policy. I made the long drive from NJ yesterday and had the puppy. I was rudely pointed to a paper sign that said no dogs. I explained the situation and the long drive I’ve just done.. But I was again rudely told to leave immediately. As a Christian and having been baptized I did not let my old self come out and just walked out after saying thanks. I am all for rules being made in order to be followed. But then why were we allowed to stay last month? I can assure you that though your cooks are amazing, we will never return to your place of establishment. Possibly some training in manners is in order, and I would recommend your staff follows said rule always in order to avoid what was a great discomfort and embarrassing moment for us. Your cooks, only THEY are the real...
