The business practice here is deceitful, and the team is uncouth. They add card present charges without informing the customer before swiping . When asked about this, they became defensive and pointed at an obscure post behind the bar.
It isn't about the money but the principle of transparency and business integrity. When people running small businesses take advantage of their customers, it makes you wonder what they would do if in position of power.
All efforts to have them understand such information needs to be communicated to every customer, or added somewhere every customer will have access to, especially those that frequent fine dinning and haven't had to deal with such hideous business practice, they wouldn't nor couldn't reason to know it is in the interest of the business and customer satisfaction.
For example, on the menu, have it as a service charge or card present charge, etc., so every customer handed the menu would have access to the info. Not some obscurely pasted notice behind the bar when you have table seating.
That's how to be transparent and forthcoming with communication.

Before I even walked in, I talked with a couple walking out and asked them about the place. You know when you ask strangers questions and their faces light up, in anticipation of telling you all about it? Well, that happened. Nice people
So I walked in, wicked local vibe, but everyone was cool. I appreciated that.
The bartender was an angel. She poured a Guinness the exact, proper way!!
Then I had the "million dollar sliders" I only paid 14 American dollars for them, but they were as advertised!! BAM, on point!!!
If I didn't have to get up early, I would stayed until these guys threw me out
Thank you, I hope to...
Read moreFirst time coming to Celtic and was welcomed nicely at first from female waitress. She checked at first periodically but after 30 mins in no one came back to check on us. A couple times I had to personally come to the bar to get service. We came 35 mins away. Stood for not even one hours due to no actual service. One bartender male was kind and all over but was trying to accommodate. One turn off was regulars were attended better at bar than tables. Future reference, if you want customers coming from North Jersey and you want us to spend money treat us first timers right. This was told to your female waitress. She failed. Disappointed but gave the 3 stars for other who were...
