This review is just for my experience with the host not the food or restaurant since we didn't get to eat there or try anything.
Left Baileys Hungry, disrespected, and confused.
We had called at 6:20PM after getting out of Water Wizz. Found your spot on Yelp and wanted to try it out. We were told for our party of 7 (3 adults and 3 kids) it'll be a 20 minutes wait. When you're told that you already know to expect to be waiting around for that amount of time if not a lil longer. The kids were excited to try out a new spot! We walked in shortly after the phone call since it's literally right there. We told her we called for a table of 7 and was rudely yelled by the host saying " I told you on the phone that there's no table available until after 7." Clearly annoyed by us. We were told 20 minutes. We're literally here to check out the restaurant and to WAIT. We didn't rush you or expected to be served right away. But you (the host) wanted to say " well it's 6:30pm and the girl ain't ready for you so you have to wait " so I guess we're rounding off time now. We said that's totally fine we're just going to wait which was the plan anyways! We stood there for a minute not sure what we should do? So we asked " would you like us to wait in the car??" We're still in a pandemic so we understand if that was the case where she didn't want us in the waiting area as a big group. She said we can wait wherever we want. We walked to where I assume is the waiting area which was empty. We wasn't in anyone's way to be clear. The children wasn't loud or Misbehaving. The host just wasn't friendly or made us feel welcome. That really sucks given that it was our first time there.
We were so uncomfortable and shocked by this encounter that we said we will wait in the car instead. As we walked out My son who is blind couldn't comprehend why we were being treated this way? It was unnecessary for you to be that way just because we showed up early. We decided to leave since we seem to be more of an annoyance to this place. Maybe she had a bad day and some other customers treated her mean so the attitude was part of our experience. But we didn't disrespect you in anyway to be talked to as if we're stupid. We ended up driving home to Boston instead of getting any food at all around the area. Simply because we don't want to feel this way again a 2nd time in one day. I'm sure we would've love the food there basing off the food pictures and would've been loyal Customers who would stop by every-time we're around the area! That's the best part about trying new places! This encounter was enough for me to question if it was a race issue or is it a real issue for us to show up early before our rsvp. She looked confused when the last person in our party who the only white man who called for the rsvp walked in and corrected her when she tried to say that she told us after 7pm over the phone. Anyways that's my rant! I wish you (the host) have a good day since we the annoying people who showed up 20 minutes early left instead of staying around to get yelled at some more.
Noted that we shouldn't come here if we want yelling and attitude for our appetizers.
The one star is for the nice bench in the waiting area that we got to look at for 3 whole minutes...
Read moreI have NEVER been to a restaurant with such poor customer service.
We made a reservation and arrived with a group of 10 after going to Scusset Beach. While I understand they have a closing time of 9pm, they chose to accept our offer closer to the end of the night, which was very nice of them. With this in mind, our server was kind and did her very best to accommodate all of our needs.
For the rest of the staff, I'm not sure I can say the same. Our group was consistently kind to everyone, saying please and thank you at every chance. There was a sudden PERSONAL emergency in the bathroom, which required my friends to gather some items from the car. In the midst of this, I was being ordered to leave, more than once, with an uncalled-for attitude. Additionally, the staff was persistently rude towards us at the end of the night, gossiping and pointing towards us in a little circle outside the bathroom. Glares were given to our group. I've never experienced such unprofessional management, even though I understand they were past closing time. However, there were OTHER FAMILIES still in the restaurant and there was no need for the unnecessary pressure and hatred. We even said thank you at the end of the night, and yet didn't receive a thank you back or a simple "have a good night."
The food was good, and the cooks did an alright job with our meals. Clam cakes were delicious, but very doughy. One of our orders of steak was cooked wrong, but was quickly fixed. I'd give the food by itself a 4/5. Unfortunately, their horrible service doesn't make up for the $300 total with decent food, which is why I'm leaving one star.
Overall, this restaurant makes good food but has the rudest staff I've yet to meet. If you're a bigger group, STAY AWAY and look somewhere else. I'm sure there are other places in the area with much...
Read moreNot Recommend Absolutely Worst Service Ever The server had no personality and was barley around at all it was very strange
Regrettably, I must express my dissatisfaction with the service received at this establishment. The server's lack of engagement and limited presence throughout the dining experience was peculiar, leaving much to be desired.
While the Lobster macaroni and cheese exhibited acceptable taste, its excessive greasiness diminished its overall appeal. On a positive note, the fish dish proved to be enjoyable and would warrant a future order. However, the nearly $40.00 Lobster, unfortunately, left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons – its extreme toughness akin to attempting to chew on a car tire, rendering it virtually inedible. The provided butter knife proved ineffective in cutting through this challenging texture.
In an effort to address our concerns, I sought the assistance of another staff member to summon the manager, to ask for drink refills (which we had been waiting a very long time for) and ask about the super hard lobster.
The subsequent interaction with the manager was disheartening; her defensive demeanor further soured the overall dining experience.
The fried lobster, characterized by its unyielding and rubbery consistency, was a stark departure from the expected quality. As individuals who have savored numerous lobster dishes, this unprecedented difficulty in consumption was disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable.
Regretfully, based on this unsatisfactory experience, we have decided not to patronize this establishment in the future. The combination of subpar service, unappetizing dishes, and an uncooperative management response has left us with little confidence in the overall quality and hospitality of this...
