I’ve never physically dined at Charlie’s but have gotten delivery a couple of times. My kids and I love their pizza.
I’m sure their other dishes are amazing. Their pizza is certainly delicious. I will say that I had an experience tonight with an unfamiliar delivery driver. I guess he knocked on my door several times before I finally heard him and when I opened the door to greet him he was seemingly agitated. I apologized for not having heard him as I was tending to my kids and he then plainly said “40 bucks”. I handed him the money, already knowing what it costed from prior orders- he rounded up, I digress. As I was shutting the door I heard him say “wow, that’s it?”
I was going to say something but chose to just let it go. Charlie’s is literally a two minute drive to where I live. I understand it’s the holidays however a lot of us are struggling financially and don’t necessarily have the means to be tipping big on a delivery (that was two minutes up the road). I just found it very inappropriate to make a remark like that quite loudly where he knew my door was still open. Like dude I’m just trying to feed my kids while I have some sort of stomach virus.
I did give a call in to let management know, call me a Karen, I don’t care. They were very apologetic and I appreciated that, I knew it wasn’t their fault and I usually would have just let it go but to be that bold about it was...
Read moreCharlie's used to be a good restaurant.Born and raised in the area. Alot of restaurants including this one are still using the excuse of the pandemic. Second day in a row I placed an order with them to give them a benefit of the doubt. First day I ordered a small linguica pizza that was very dry. Second day which is today order two stuff haddocks with extra sauce which I emphasize twice on the phone. The waitress that answer the phone advised me that it would be an hour and a half for delivery and I told her that was fine with us When the food arrived a nice gentleman dropped it off and to make a long story short no extra sauce for the fish which was dry. I understand every where you go now the portions of way smaller than they used to be in the prices are higher that's the world we live in today but the quality of food has totally gone down. The driver was nice enough to say that he'd go back and get some extra sauce because he wasn't that busy gave him a little extra tip to do so and never came back. Got screwed in many of ways. Will not be back. Money wasted two...
Read moreWe were hoping the food was fantastic, since the place always looks too full to find parking.. Finally, we saw a few parking spots and quickly pulled in for dinner tonight. $18 shrimp scampi, absolutely no flavor, as if the garlic was boiled with the noodles and scrimp all in one pot.. I added 4 butter cubes which came with our rolls, salt, and park cheese from a shacked on the table.. Still nothin for flavor. My husbend ordered the baked ziti, same thing again, tons of sausage, water filling yhe bottom of the bowl, lots of cheese and sauce, but was extremely bland and tastless.. No flavor at all. Odd how a dish so overwhelmed with ingredients, that it tasted bland. He thought maybe the pizza will be good, since we saw so many people ordering the pizza, but I'm too...
