I was pretty excited to try this breakfast spot as my girlfriend and I try to hit a new place every weekend....I wish we had just gone to dunkins this time to be perfectly honest. It was so cramped that I was twice splashed with dirty water from the busboys as he carried dishes back to the kitchen and that itself was a blessing as it was so insanely hot that an elderly man LITTERALLY COLLAPSED from the heat and had to be taken out via ambulance. Despite my waffle being so undercooked that it was actually wet and my "crispy bacon" being a puddle of grease with strips of bacon that as far as I can tell was quickly heated in the microwave (I asked if she could please go back to get me crispy bacon and she returned to slam down a plate of the same bacon I returned except black and shrivled before walking away without a word) THE WORSTE PART was still not the food or the hot/cramped atmosphere...it was the service.
I must say that the majority of the staff seemed exceedingly nice and welcoming but our waitress was by far the worste woman we've ever met. Each time we tried to order (when shed come by to ask what wed like) shed cut us off and walk away only to return minutes later to repeat the process a total of 3 times with increasing levels of hostility that we had the audacity to come in to a breakfast place to order breakfast.
This is the only time in my life I have written a review and I'm fairly certain it's the only time I've felt compelled to so much as mention a bad customer service experience to anyone let alone the entire internet but this was too much...
Read moreOrdered a BLT on sourdough bread to go. Was told they had to check if they had any lettuce first. They did. I was asked to wait outside for my order due to the breakfast crowd inside the very small restaurant. No problem. What became a problem was the absurd wait time of nearly 40 minutes, which made me late meeting up with a family member. The employee who took my order was a very sweet, older woman who kept me updated and apologized each time for the delay. She's far too good for this place.
After she finally brought me my BLT, I took off in my car, unwrapping it as I drove. The slices of bread were quite large, length-wise. After a few bites, I noticed I wasn't tasting any bacon, and barely any lettuce. I pulled the car over, and inspected the sandwich. Grrr, instant fury! The bacon was basically one full slice broken into 4 pieces. The iceberg lettuce was small pieces from the portion that normal people throw away. There were a mere 2 thin slices of a medium tomato. This was by far the most pathetic sandwich I have ever seen. Paying approx. $10 for it left me feeling I had been financially raped.
The only recommendation I can make about this place is to stay very far...
Read moreWanted some corned beef hash so found this place in area I was in and it had good reviews so I went. I was thinking it had house made corned beef hash from reviews but not the case. But it was a good portion of canned hash that is similar to most and it was done crispy as I'd requested so I enjoyed. It was pretty salty, more so than most I thought, but I did not add salt. Taste it before doing that. The potatoes also seemed to be heavily salted-I wish they'd let you add your own salt! I like salt, so someone who doesn't would find them overpowering. Service was good, portions and prices good. The reason I only gave 4 stars is they had an option on marble rye that was thicker than the regular rye. That sounded good and I ordered. When my bill came I asked why my meal was 8.49 instead of the 7.99 on menu. I was told my rye bread choice added 50 cents. She said she told me that it was an upcharge, but if I'd heard that I would have passed. Come on-how much more is bread that is 3/16 inch thicker costing you? This seemed like a ripoff. Food was good although salty, I will go again but will not order...
