Carousel Frozen Treats — Restaurant in Warrenton

Good food, great ice cream, get the hot dog! We had passed by many times on our way to and from Shenandoah and soccer games. We finally decided to stop in and are glad we did! We read somewhere about their hot dogs being specially made (can't find the link right now) for them and they were out during Covid-19 but we just went back and were able to get the hot dog. It really was a better hot dog! I'm not a hot dog guy but I really liked it. Also had a slider that was really good. Their chili cheese fries were AWESOME too. Their shakes and ice cream cones are very good as well. The "Hawaiian Ice" is not shaved ice, it's a snow cone so don't think you are getting anything like you get in Hawaii but, hey, my daughter still loved it. Sometimes the line can get long but they tend to move people through pretty fast. They reduced their seating during Covid, as you would expect, but I hope they boost that back up after this whole pandemic is done. (We all look forward to that!) So, if you are looking for a nice place to stop for a treat, and even some food, on your way through town, my family recommends Carousel, I don't think you will be...

Okay, this place CAN get a little congested at times, I'll admit. BUT, even so, I still give it all of my stars.

They have great food, amazing ice cream, and awesome decorative sense. They have a wonderful brick walkway all around the place that is surrounded with flowers and trees of all kinds (especially the white fringetree on the left side).

They have a few exotic flavors for the shakes, (one of which I'm very fond of. Ever heard of Irish Creme?) and I do appreciate the tiny umbrellas they stick in the drinks. Really makes me feel welcome there.

Oh! And the birds! The birds are always flying by and hopping on the tables! I think it's brightened up my experience every time I go there!
