I had heard nothing but how good this place was. Finally, went by to get an omelet, and I love omelets. I not able to go in to eat but wife went in to order. I order their Hog Heaven omelet, 3 meats, onion, green peppers, tomatoes & cheese, I was expecting a big omelet. Price was 12.70 with potatoes & bread. I ask for no potatoes expecting a low price, no no,no. What this company calls a omelet is totally embarrassing. It came out maybe was 2 eggs laid flat with a little cheese between egg and maybe 1 link of sausage cut in chunks, a sprinkle of ham, maybe a slice of bacon crumbled, and a very few peppers, onion and a sprinkle of tomato. I was totally blown away that this place calls this place a omelet Cafe. I could not believe I had been so ripped off. It was about 6" long and 3" wide maybe 3/4" thick and cost $12.70. My wife makes me a similar omelet with three eggs 2 sausage patties crumbled, several slices of bacon crumbled, a handful of diced ham, handful of green peppers, handful onions and two slices of American or velvet Mexican cheese. Everything cooked together, set aside. Cook the 3 eggs laid out in skillet, then put cheese on eggs, and rest of ingredients. Egg then is rolled around the ingredients. Omelet is about goes from one side of my plate to the other side and is about 4" wide and a 1 1/2" thick. That's a real omelet. I learn how to make an omelet many years ago from a little café down in DC on 4th street and that's how he always uses 3 eggs to make a omelet. I have ever been so disappointed with this Omelet Cafe what a joke. I was planning on trying chip beef gravy and sausage gravy but I won't waste my time or money. I can go to Wendy's for really fantastic sausage gravy and biscuits for $2.48 for 1 biscuits delicious sausage gravy. I have bought Bob Evans gravy for years but Wendy's is better and much cheaper. Can also buy gravy for $1.00 a scoop. I buy 20 scoops at a time, put in containers and enjoy for...
Read moreToday was our second visit to the Warrenton location. The first was shortly after the location opened. The staff was obviously overwhelmed (they had that deer in the headlights look). They were very busy and, after waiting about ten minutes to put our name in for the waiting list, we were told it would be about an hour wait. However, there was room at the bar, so we sat there for about 10 minutes without anyone coming over. We realized that the staff was overwhelmed and decided to try the location on a different day. Today, it was less busy, but there was no hostess to seat anyone. One of the servers pointed to an empty table as being available. We sat down and were asked about drinks by a different server. A third server ended up taking our order. Food and drink came in a reasonable time, as well as one refill on drinks. The next refill was forgotten. We were surprised to find out that the 2 egg breakfast would cost extra for any of the meat options (bacon, sausage or ham). The food was only ok. I ordered an omlette. I was surprised how small it was. I chose the toast and potato option for the side. The toast was not buttered and did not come with butter or jelly/jam, etc. The potatoes were dripping from the cooking oil. My wife ordered the french toast special. It came with a drizzle of syrup, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and some strawberries and bananas. It tasted fine, but nothing to write home about. It took a while for our bill to come, and that was brought by a 4th server. In all, it seemed very disorganized and the staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed. If this were a new, stand-alone cafe, I could understand a little longer break-in period. However, as a chain I would expect better training by management and a better staffing to meet the demand. So, now we have been there. No...
Read moreWe've been to The Omelette Cafe in Warrenton twice now. First, on their opening weekend for dinner. The second time today, their second weekend open, for brunch. I would not recommend ordering anything other than breakfast as you would be over-paying for unimpressive food. Stick to their specialty = breakfast, but be sure to pack your patience. The breakfast options are definitely worth returning for, but as other reviews have said, the service leaves a lot to be desired. They are also really inflexible if you want any adjustments to a menu item.
There seemed to be a lot of staff, but they all seemed confused, disorganized, and sometimes a little less than friendly, depending on the person. From the moment we walked in, there didn't seem to be a host/hostess and the staff just looked at us as if they weren't sure what we were standing around for, while others ignored us. Once we were seated, we weren't even sure who our server was and I'm not sure they knew either. The person who took our order was different from the person who brought it, who was also different from the few people that asked if our order had been taken already and/or if we needed anything else. Since we weren't sure who we were supposed to ask for the check from, we just flagged down whoever was walking by to pay.
I will give them some grace as they are only on their second weekend open, but they definitely have some work to do in the area of customer service & organization. We will likely return as it's nice to have an above average breakfast spot to go to, and will just keep our fingers-crossed the service improves with time...
