China Jade — Restaurant in Warrenton

I don’t usually write a negative review because I would much rather praise the positive experiences. However, I walked into this restaurant unsure if it was open. Door was unlocked, I stepped in. Nobody. A man walks by me, almost not noticing me until I ask if they are open. I was told yes.

I am told to go to the back to order and do so. The man at the register takes the order, I pay and he says little else to me— so I ask if I can sit at one of the tables and am told I may.

My food is then brought to me in a take out bag (which wasn’t my plan) and it seems an inconvenience that I am there in the empty restaurant.

I sit and eat my food. I was never offered a glass of water or anything. Nobody at all in the restaurant. Was I not supposed to be there? We’re they not open? Do they only do take out? I don’t know because the two people that were there (one was eating) disappeared to the back.

Weird uncomfortable experience. My worst dining experience ever. It made me feel like I was in a mobster movie where the restaurant...

Very reminiscent of Duck Chang's in Annandale, Virginia -- pure Chinese cuisine and is an authentic Orient feel.

Great owner (Wilson), great service, great cooks in the back I haven't met yet.

It is not carry-out cheap or saturated with unhealthy sauces. It is the original "American"-influenced Chinese cuisine, exotic, true, and a delicious change we all remembered from fifty, sixty and up to a hundred years ago.

Quoted a 40 minute wait when ordering, which ended up being close to 90 minutes. Other people had been waiting 2 hours for their takeout. Despite being so behind, they kept taking orders and never quoted a wait time longer than an hour over the phone. No apologies, just kept saying “it’s so busy.” Well you can control that by not taking more orders…food was somehow lukewarm when we finally got it.
