We ordered via tele asking for three gyros - two without onions or tzatziki and one with everything (or as is, meaning tzatziki, onions (no exclusions) and such). We got one as requested (no onions or tzatziki), one with tzatziki but no onions and one with everything, so the order was about half right.
The person who took our order over the phone [I'm pretty sure] confirmed our ask, so I'm guessing it was the kitchen that didn't get this right. Also, and moreover, there was really no meat on the sandwiches or just very, very little. We were really in the mood for some gyros last night but didn't really get what we were craving.
I don't have any photos, save for our receipt, because by the time we sat to eat, we were all so hungry; in fact, when my husband bit into his -- he found the first one with onions and tzatziki (mine) and presumed the rest were as ordered, that he didn't check the rest (because you shouldn't have to) and upon taking said bite, he got a mouthful of tzatziki, which didn't make him happy. He dealt with it, again, given how hungry he was, but he wasn't ready for it and wasn't too pleased either. To fill the void that these sandwiches left, I went into the kitchen and whipped up a quick salad for everyone.
As for the receipt, you will clearly see where the order was taken correctly, so there again, I put this on the kitchen -- FAIL on their part!
Otherwise, my husband and son said that place was cute, so I think we might give this place another try. Emphasis on...
Read moreBlue Olive is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the intimate, romantic atmosphere set the tone for a memorable evening. While the menu offers a variety of dishes for all appetites, we focused on small plates, which made for a fun and flavorful shared dining experience.
The long-stem artichokes stole the show with their beautifully grilled, smoky flavor—each bite was perfection. The stuffed mushrooms, surrounded by tender spinach and rich butter, were indulgent and satisfying. And the octopus? Simply unmatched. It was the most tender we’ve ever had, paired flawlessly with the other dishes we enjoyed. Of course, the hummus was also a standout—silky, flavorful, and just delightful.
To top it all off, the mint tea is always the perfect way to end the meal.
The BYOB option was the cherry on top, allowing us to bring our favorite wine and enjoy it alongside the incredible dishes. Blue Olive truly captures the Mediterranean vibe, offering both exquisite food and a warm, inviting ambiance.

Read moreI'll start off with this: the food is delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. They did keep refilling our water glasses but we had to hunt for the check. The dining room is pleasant and the tables are nicely set.The bad news: for the price, the portions were disappointing. The appetizers really were not large enough to share, you should probably order one per person and they are expensive. Entree's were a little more expensive than similar places, but this is, granted, a little more upscale. Moussaka, basically a Mediterranean variation on lasagna, was flavorful but small and came with no sides. A bowl of couscous and assorted grilled meats was a more generous serving, primarily because of a lot of couscous under the meat. Lamb shank with fruits was very tasty but somehow was disappointing due to portion size. We don't normally order dessert, but we did here as we were far from full. We were a little disappointed overall. The place was busy and it seems like they had many repeat customers, so your milage may vary. Worth a try. We'll probably wait awhile...
