I'm not sure I'll be back to this location.. but I'd give it another chance at some point.. I've heard people say great things about dear hearts, mostly the Cranston location so we thought we'd try the west shore rd spot because it's closer. Not sure if this is standard, it was a warm day and we went in the evening, but there was no soft serve, barely any hard serve flavors left. I still found something I liked - I wanted a small cone, after using the register and using no gloves to scoop the ice cream, it was passed to another girl with no gloves who had just finished coughing and touching other things to add the sprinkles. Then it was overfilled so they asked if they could put it in a cup with the cone on top, I said it was fine, but I really wanted less ice cream and just the cone. Seemed a little unsanitary. I'm not sure if the no gloves thing is standard here, I ended up throwing the cone portion away. Bliss ice cream was good though. Other places sell the same brand so I'll probably go elsewhere.
Edit to respond to the owner: this is for the WEST SHORE RD location, it was evening on Sunday as I stated, I said it's possible that played a factor, it was my first time going here. Not a generic anonymous google user my name is posted on here as Christina. They had signs up that said they were out of ALL soft serve and had a large list of hard flavors they didn't have including basic chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough, the hersheys brand products, pistachio - there were a minimum of 10 hard flavors they were out, and when I asked if they really were out of all those flavors they said YES. And as we were leaving after getting our ice cream one of the girls came out to announce to the line everything they were out of. I felt bad for them they were obviously overwhelmed and not their fault. There's no exaggeration, I was honest in my review.
Went to the Cranston location last night and they had everything in stock, so not sure what happened Sunday evening at the west shore...
Read moreWas in the process of writing a review, but didn't fully complete it and submitted just a rating of 3 🌟 instead. Very shortly after, received a snarky reply from the owner. I am a long time customer and was not overly impressed with my first visit this season. The "server" girl didn't even know some of the flavors and seemed to make our order a joke with the other girls. Glad they were having fun. Perhaps they should have put some flavoring in the coffee soft serve! Used to be one of my favorites, but it had so little taste even my daughter threw hers out. I guess now, there's no reason to go back. I must say this place did have a unique "napkin securement" system. Usually the slight breeze is a sure thing to blow those suckers away, but not at Dear Hearts. They automatically stick to the dirty tables through a firm gust. A little spray of fantastic before a rainstorm would go a long way, as would a little less customer criticism. I have changed my mind about this place. My apologies. I think it is a 1 🌟 kind of place...
Read moreI am allergic to milk, and saw that they had dairy free soft serve, and being allergic to milk, it is very hard to find ice cream options, especially soft serve as I have only had it once in my life. so I was super excited, and they even advertised 24 flavors of it. they had at least 3 large signs advertising this dairy free ice cream, one of them was a big digital sign by the road, and a couple large ones on the building itself. I decided what I wanted and walked up to the window, and the employee said they didn’t have any dairy free soft serve. they had at least 3 large signs advertising this ice cream, with no sign at all- not even a small one- saying they didn’t have it available. I had gotten so excited, and literally walked away angry with tears in my eyes because it is so hard to find things like this that I can actually eat. if you don’t have something,...
