Upon entering the IHOP in Warwick, RI on Post road the restraunt smelled like wet dog and mold. That was our first experience. A young lady sat us down at a dirty table, in which it had food on it. That was our second experience. We eventually got another table. The waiter came up to the table did not introduce himself and took the order for drinks and food rudely. He was accommodating while taking the orders, however, on receiving the drinks and food there was a glass of water missing, and paid no attention to the placement of the food. One french toast was missing, mushrooms for another meal was still raw in which the waiter admitted it looked raw and still served it. The pancakes came out half the size in which the usual IHOP pancake sizes are. The second half of another meal didn't come out while most of the family was done with their food. During our dining the waiter never came around to ask about how our food was or if we needed refills or anything else while dining. All this happened during a non rush hour time. We were the only family in the restaurant until the very end when an older couple sat down to eat. Lastly, IHOP is attempting to implement their app service to pay for the food. You can't just scan and pay as a guest you have to download an app, create an account, then pay. This took 20+ minutes to figure out. When we finally figured it out, the waiter finally came by and asked if he could take the payment. The waiter never asked how we wanted to pay. Upon receiving the bill we learned our waiters name was Brian K. We've gone to multiple IHOPs in lots of locations. By far this is the worst experience my family has...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I normally don't add negative reviews, but I have no choice but to on this occasion.
My son and I visited for a late Saturday lunch. Arrived at 1:20 and was sat right away. The place was pretty dead - maybe less than 1/3rd capacity. There were waitresses everywhere counting money and wrapping silverware. We walked past 4 tables that had half eaten food and plates all over them (just not bussed yet, basically the place looked like a mess).
About 10 minutes went by before a waitress even asked what we'd like to drink. Another 10 minutes went by before they were brought out. I ordered an Oreo shake and when it came out it was literally a warm melted disaster. Basically milk with chunks of Oreo.
When the waitress came out I sent it back and ordered water and the food. I ordered a brunch burger with a fried egg on it. I asked and was very clear when I ordered that the fried egg was over hard and not runny at all. The waitress confirmed. I said ok, thanks I don't like runny eggs and she smiled.
No word of a lie, over 50 minutes goes by before the food came out. My son and I were astonished. The waitress finally came over and apologized saying the food was on the way. I bet you can't guess what happened? Yup, the eggs ran out the side of the burger when I cut it in half. Glad I checked it before I bit into it.
I sent it back and left hungry. My son liked his food, but he felt bad to sit there and eat in front of me.
They took the burger and shake off the bill, but were less than sincere in their apology. Overall, we agreed we will not be back to this IHOP. We'll go to the Providence...
Read moreSo decided to go to Ihop Warwick Rhoad Island on Airport Rd for brunch today... Im honestly not sure how that place is still in business. To their credit...ive never seen staff busy doing so much cleaning in a restaurant... So that was good to see. But the food... So disappointing. Theyre current promotion is biscuit and gravy combos... Now, i swear i was a southerner in a past life...biscuits and gravy is #1 on my favorite breakfast foods list.... And again, to be fair...the biscuits were exceptional.... But its called biscuits AND gravy... The idea being you smother the biscuit in a rich and flavorful peppery sausage cream gravy... So lets talk about the gravy. My first concern was, it comes out in a teeny tiny 2oz condiment cup...what the hell? Could you spare it? Thats barely gonna coat half a biscuit, and it damn sure isnt going to smother nothing. Then my 2nd concern... It just didnt look right... It was this slightly gelatinous translucent stuff... If i had to guess... This looks like cream cravy that got too thick from drying out sitting in the steam table for 3 days and had then been thinned back down with water to be useable again, rather than making up a fresh batch...the water giving it that translucent appearance. Either that or they're using a dry gravy mix and making it woth water instead of milk... Neither is acceptable... Making it the right way is too simple to be cutting corners either way.
Overall, very...
