Nick & Joan's Place — Restaurant in Warwick

My boyfriend and I visited here for the first time about a month ago, loved it and have been wanting to go back… this time it was a full house! Which is great. We got a seat super fast , we were acknowledged by Nick and the waitress, but she didn’t bring us menus or ask us what we wanted to drink UNTIL she saw some regulars sit behind us and served them their drinks first. Okay no biggie, but as the meal continues she doesn’t come around at all and when she does , it is right by us and to the two tables behind where she has a social hour. Multiple times we watched her not even acknowledge tables. We watched Nick bring drinks over to a table that was seated right next to the waitress who did not move or break from conversation. Twice Nick had asked if we needed coffee or anything & he brought us another item we ordered with him. Which is crazy considering he’s the chef … !!!!

Needless to say, we understand wanting the interaction with guests but don’t single certain ones and make it apparent like that. We left very upset because of her service. We wanted to tip Nick instead since he served us more than she did, and was...

First and last time. We sat at the counter and I ordered a coffee with milk and my mom ordered a soda. My coffee came and I poured the milk into it and it was chunky. I opened the top of the container to look inside and there was a ring of chunky milk along the edges and it smelled sour. I asked for a soda instead, but after that incident and seeing an entire ham sitting on the counter next to the grill we decided to leave. I asked out waitress if we could just pay for our sodas and she said she would find out how much they were. Another waiter came over and we told him it was our first time here and that incident turned us off and we were just going to pay for the sodas. No apology he looked at our waitress who said she took it from the cooler with the sodas in it and he said it must have been frozen. There is absolutely no way that it was frozen given the fact that the sodas were warm and frozen milk has icicles not chunks. Also, it is concerning that it was already in the container as if it is being passed around between patrons. We paid for our sodas and left. Poor customer service and food/beverage...

I don’t even know where to begin. First of all, what’s with all the plates. 3 people and 10 plates. Everything separate and not all at once. Strange! Bacon first, toast second and then our meal. Potatoes weren’t even cooked, it tasted like we were eating raw potatoes. And they were huge! The sausage tasted like it had been sitting out since they opened, or maybe even from yesterday. Very rubbery. When you try to put your fork in it, your fork bounces back. I noticed after we were done with our meal the eggs were sitting in a carton above the grill, just chilling.Ewww…. Just wondering how long they had been sitting out like that, just chilling? Service- there really was none. We were the only ones in the tiny restaurant and never asked how our meal was. Never came back around for a coffee refill. The 1 star reviews are accurate We will not...
