Very disappointed with this place. To start we had to wait to be seated so they could get a table ready, which isn't a problem when the place is busy. However, when we were brought to our seat we noticed half the restaurant was empty. Half the tables were already set with no one at them. The drinks were good, but I suspect they don't use real chambord in their French martinis. We ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. It was definitely a pre-made frozen app, and the sauce was presented in a plastic takeout container, all for the price of $10.99. We both ordered some of the specials, the baby back ribs (half rack) and the grilled swordfish. Both entrees were over cooked. The ribs seemed to be overcooked, put in the fridge for later, then reheated in a microwave. I've had leftover ribs taste better then these ribs. The swordfish was also overcooked and the potato wasn't great either. We told the waiter about the ribs. He offered to replace it, we decided against that. I really didn't want another overcooked meal. I tried to eat more but just couldn't stand it anymore so the waiter took it away. Here's the kicker, or the straw that broke the camel's back. A man came out from the kitchen in a greasy t-shirt and shorts, who I assume is the owner, and quickly started accusing us of not saying anything about it. I had to tell him 3 times that I did say something but decided against another meal. I don't care who you are, you don't instantly blame your customers because you have crappy food. We might have given this place another chance if that guy didn't get upset and accusatory because his food...
Read moreI've been going to the greenwood inn since 1989. I've always loved the food and the attentive wait staff.. My husband and I went there last night to get baked scrod and I got clam zuppa over spaghetti. I asked for chopped clams added to the spaghetti, the waiter told me it comes with it. When we received our meals the baked scrod was dry and quite small, as if my husband ordered a half plate size. The mashed potatoes were terrible. ( Instant potatoes for sure) . My red clam zuppa had 6 tiny open clams and spaghetti was covered with big piece's of onion and about 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half .. no chopped clams. Ili asked my waiter and he didn't know what a chopped clams was. He said to me " you got clams ma'am. I tried to explain but he was inching away from our table before I could ask if slchef could accommodate. I was willing to pay for what I wanted. I've never been so disappointed in my entire life with greenwood inn and will not return. My family and friends are also quite surprised at our meals. Even the white clam chowder was gross.no potato no clams just a thick congealed white sauce. And we were charged $12.00 for chowder which in ever single restaurant I've ever been to meals come with a chowder/ soup. It truly breaks my heart that the greenwood inn has been part of my family's favorites since my great grandma and grandfather. Now it's at the bottom of our list. $80.... Wastedid rather go to Dave's supermarket for an entire piece of fish and more fries than I can eat for $12.99.. fyi.. It's...
Read moreI was told this place is like going to Davenport's or Chelo's. It's not even close. The food was really bad. The service was poor. I'll never step foot in this place again. To it's credit, there were a ton of people here on the Friday I went.
The server brought us the wrong food. I asked for sweet potato fries and got regular. My friend ordered chicken Parm and received eggplant Parm. The server unprofessionally asked if we'd keep these wrong dishes instead. When she returned with our food my sweet potato fries were on a plate with someone else's grilled cheese. I feel badly for whomever was waiting for grilled cheese. SMH the server claimed it was the only way to get the fries. It's been a while since I worked in the good industry, but this sounds like a lie.
I had the steak and cheese wrap. It wasn't hot. The steak tasted like it was steakems from the freezer isle. Not seasoned. Not enough cheese either. The only redeeming quality was the flour tortilla.
My friend seemed nonplussed by their meal and never mentioned it the enjoyed it. At the very least, it was a good sized piece of chicken. The eggplant before it was mushy.
The drink they received was not what they ordered. Mine was at least accurate and tasty.
Suffice it to say, while this place looks nice from the exterior and interior, the service and food is severely overrated. I definitely won't be back. It's too expensive to eat out and have a...
