MASA SUSHI — Restaurant in Washington Township

Greetings review board. I had the misfortune of ordering food from this place this evening, so let me tell you how it went: When we called to order, we laid it out very clearly: Pork Gyoza Miso Soup Shrimp Tempura Mango Mochi Box C Lunch Bento Box, Vegetable They accept our order and tell us to come in 30 minutes. No problem. 30 minutes go by and we pick up the food and head home to be met with complete and utter disappointment. Not only had they taken our, SHRIMP TEMPURA, and forgotten it - but assumed we wanted a roll instead of the entree. They did not offer to replace it. They made a mistake on the order and wanted us to just order the food again, paying full price. The sushi was bad, and the fish wasn't cleaned properly. The fish tasted sour, all of it. The miso soup was a watered down disaster, and the pork gyoza was slimy and inedible. Their tempura is NOT tempura. They use some sort of bread mix that makes everything just taste dry and bready with no real flavor or texture. We all took maybe 2-3 bites of our food before realizing that it was all bad and quite frankly, INEDIBLE. It was thrown out shortly after those 2-3 bites. Upon calling the restaurant, I was met with an associate who definitely gave me the run-around. When I called to (politely) tell them the food wasn't good, I was met with: "It's fresh, it was made a few hours ago." "We make the food in 10 minutes and because you come 30 minutes later it's no good" -- Keep in mind, we were explicitly told to come in 30 minutes time. These, among a myriad of other excuses. The person I spoke to also boldly claimed that the store had never received any complaints or bad reviews which, looking at this board, was obviously a lie. Coming from Southern California to visit NJ and sample some of this sushi, I wouldn't feed this to even the starving and emaciated. Do not waste...

The atmosphere was calming and added to overall experience.. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful - even have a couple suggestions since I had an idea of what I wanted, but couldn't settle.. so I went wth the suggestion and was blown away! Everything we had ordered was SOOO fresh tasting and presented so beautifully! We ordered a nicer of items from hand rolls, appetizers, soup & salad, variety of main dishes, and dessert.. each item came out in a timely fashion and was prepared exactly as we had ordered. I can't say enough about how attentive staff was and accommodated all of our needs. Also, considering we arrived very close to closing time, never once did we feel rushed or treated any different or anything else. Our food was still created and put together wth the same attentiveness and attention to detail that I imagine anyone at any other time would have received. It's not easy finding a good sushi place where everything seems to be perfect, especially in our area! I am veryyy glad we found this little gem and definitely plan on visiting again in very near future - will probably become one of our regular spots at least once a...

I decided to give this place a try and I was really disappointed with the take out meal I ordered here. I hate to write a bad review but I would not want anyone else to waste $24 dollars like I did. I got the Triple Sushi entree and it was barely edible. The dinner came with soup and salad. The miso soup tasted like warm water and the lettuce in the salad was browning. The sushi came with 3 pieces of yellow tail, salmon, and tuna and a star roll. The pieces of fish were very small. The yellow tail was extremely dry and fishy and it had pieces of skin on it, it looked like it was old and it tasted disgusting I had to spit it out. The tuna and salmon was slightly better but still not very good and after tasting the yellow tail I was turned off from eating the rest of the fish. The star fish roll was a combo of salmon, tuna, and white fish and that also tasted extremely fishy and gross. I ended up eating 2 bites and threw the rest out. I would not...
