The Crystal City Chipotle was once a great lunch time destination but as of late it’s been missing the mark in exceptional fashion. There was once a front line comprised of friendly and fast moving women, but now the line is made up of much younger and completely new faces. This in and of itself is not much of an issue, but the attention to detail, turn around time, and to some degree -- the cleanliness have all taken a serious hit.
Having gone at least three or more times since the staff change there always seems to be an air of confusion among the employees and if there is a manager at this location it’s incredibly difficult to determine exactly who that individual would be.
Long bushy facial hair on the preppers and cooks, open zippers leaving little to the imagination, and aloof cashiers have all been experienced during past visits. Most recently the chicken was lacking in flavor, the rice was undercooked, the proportions were way off with a large helping of borderline bland chicken and a trickle of beans. Last but not least the lettuce that was requested never ended up in the bowl and one time both bathrooms were out of order during the rush which seems like something that could have been avoided with the proper planning.
All that being said it is still hoped that this Chipotle will turn it’s act around, the young staff manning the various stations have likely not been trained properly, but candles tend to burn until there isn’t any wax left so until such a time as that one can expect their experience at this establishment to be hit or miss with the odds in favor of...
Read moreI was annoyed enough to complain to Chipotle directly:
I live nearby and my family comes here often. This location is always out of veggies. I don't know if they are understaffed or just lazy because I will ask one worker who will lie to my face that they are out for the entire day. When I ask another worker about it after I've already paid for my food, they will say I should have waited 5 more minutes. Either way, this is not a one time experience and I have been very understanding about the food shortage many times. Also, I have noticed that they are discriminatory about how they serve their food. They will pile on portions for customers who are loud and angry enough to stand up for what they're paying for but I am not that sort of person. They are serving some customers portions to the extent that their bowl lid wont close, while I get a thin layer of rice, a few cubes of meat, and a tablespoon of guacamole. I weigh 120 pounds and it does not take a lot to feed me, yet I am still at a loss for words that anyone can have the audacity to serve that and think it's worth $10. I feel terrible, but if I ask nicely, they will give me attitude like I am doing something wrong and I refuse to go to this location any longer. If ONE person can at least read this and laugh at the absurdity of running a business like this, it'll make up somewhat for the $$$ I have lost in the countless times I've shopped here and received enough food to feed the tiniest army of 5...
Read moreJust Had a terrible experience at this location. The young lady working the front who told me her name was Miriam refused to refund me for my stale chips. I asked for them to be swapped out, and she told me all the chips were made in the morning so they would all be stale. When I asked for a refund she said that she needed my receipt, to which I did not receive one when I bought my bowl a few hours prior. I told her I used my chipotle rewards and I knew what time I paid. I asked she could look it up that way she refused to do that. She said she could only give me another bag of chips. I used one of my rewards to get To get an adobo Ranch. I told her that I bought the ranch to enjoy with my chips and had to throw it away due to not having a refrigerator at work to store it. She charged me again for the adobo ranch. When she mentioned the cost of the Adobe Ranch, she said it, as if I could not afford it, which I thought was very rude. I also noticed that there was a young African-American lady in front that she embarrassed as well regarding the cost of her bowl. I noticed that she wasn’t doing that to any other patrons. Miriam might not be aware of microaggressions, but she should absolutely be educated on them. Unfortunately, I can’t file a complaint on the chipotle website because I didn’t get a receipt. This location was walking distance from my job and I often go during lunch but now I’m reconsidering ever...
