OMG I love this library. It's right in my neighborhood and while the hours are a little odd, it's incredibly useful. It's got a small parking lot that can be full but there is some street parking. The library has a great system so I don't have to drive all over town for books, they can ship them here. Plus the staff is great. Absolutely wonderful. Kind and nice. They also offer all kinds of events and speakers and things for kids. It's wonderful to see this place so alive and filled with people. Yes, it's filled with people, including little people. Unlike another reviewer, who shall remain nameless (ahem, not because I won't name them but because they are too fearful and curmudgeonly to use their real name) most people understand that this library serves the neighborhood and this neighborhood has a lot of children. They're not brats "My Name;" you are. No, it's not a university library so it's not very quiet. No, it's not a big library so it doesn't have a huge selection of books. I would suggest anyone who is so disrespectful of people and ageist should stay home. Otherwise, it's a great...
Read moreThis isn't a library. Children scream and shout and bang things and their parents do nothing. Imagine trying to read/work AT A LIBRARY and being unable to do so because the volume is too loud. It's like this ALL THE TIME and the incompetent "staff" do absolutely nothing. The one place in Arlington I expect not to have to deal with someone else's screaming brats is in an effing library. It's worse than a goddamn Chucky Cheese. If you can't control your children, for the love of God, please DO NOT take them to a library! Screaming 3 and 4-year-olds do not belong in a public library! Or change the name to The Arlington Children's Center because such unbelievably obnoxious behavior is totally unacceptable...
Read moreWhile visiting the park and trying to visit some of the nearby museums I decided to check out the library. Small library, very nice, and of course they were having a book sale. So I ended up buying two books and a bag. I love books so it was going to happen. Many reviewers talk about it being loud and full of kids. I visited it on a Saturday while the park was full of families and, yet, the library seemed totally calm and no problems I can see. Also, to be honest, kids are loud. I don't have issues with kids at libraries, museums, or parks just being themselves. Also when kids come to libraries they learn to enjoy books, become readers, and end up highly educated. All...
